Services
The Baby Unit and Toddler Room provides excellent care for children aged from six months to two years old. Each child spends time playing and developing in a secure, nurturing environment with age appropriate equipment and toys. We meet all the individual needs of your child and each Key Person provides innovative ways to encourage learning through meaningful interactions and discovery play.
In England children tend to start primary school in the September after they turn four - so some will be almost five when they start and others may have only just turned four during the summer holidays. There's actually no legal requirement for your child to be in full-time education until the term after they turn five, so if you wish you can delay - or even defer for a year - your child's start.
Twixus has dedicated inside spaces that offer a variety of activities specifically for our school aged children. The lower floor of Garland Hill House is known as the 'Basement Club' and is kept just for them. ICT equiptment, gaming, swimming, crafts and a garden clubhouse are just some of the things that the school age children have to enjoy.
The Department for Education (DfE) has information on all approved childcare qualifications. If you don't have a level 2 qualification, you can start out by working as a nursery assistant where you'll be supervised by more experienced staff. This could be a paid job or through volunteering. You could then train while you work.
If you contact us we will arrange a 'show around' of our setting and provide you with a brochure and welcome pack. Please check the yearly term dates on our 'Parent Page' for holiday closures and session allocations. If you are interested in registering a child please leave your child's name, age a contact phone number in the Feedback/Enquires box.
