St Ives Veterinary Surgery is a small, friendly, companion animal practice in St Ives, Cornwall. We offer quality health care to animals in St Ives, Carbis Bay, Hayle, Penzance and the rest of West Cornwall. The surgery was opened in 1983 and taken over by Stephen Putnam in 1990. It has recently undergone major rebuilding and upgrading, enabling us to continue to provide the best standards of care to our patients and clients.

St Ives Veterinary Surgery is a small, friendly, companion animal practice in St Ives, Cornwall. Our aim is to provide comprehensive quality health care for all companion animals in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We are not only here to treat sick animals, our training and experience qualifies us to give advice on all aspects of pet care.
Stephen was born and brought up in Liskeard, he qualified as a vet from the University of Liverpool in 1985. He bought the surgery in St Ives in 1990 after working in intensive, mainly companion animal, practices. Ellen trained and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in a Veterinary Hospital in Somerset.
We run an appointment system to keep waiting to a minimum, appointments can always be made at short notice if necessary. Advice and counter sales are available at any time during opening hours. If you require veterinary attention outside normal surgery hours, telephone the surgery. Your call will automatically be redirected to CVETS dedicated veterinary emergency service.
Our Healthy Pet Club allows you to spread the cost of your pet's routine health care throughout the year with 12 easy and affordable payments covering vaccination against deadly diseases, and increased protection against the wide range of parasites our pets are exposed to every day all at a 15% discount.
We at St Ives Veterinary Surgery are an approved Appointed Representative for Agria Pet Insurance. I took my mum's cat to the vets today as he was seriously ill.
He wasn't registered with the vets, but the staff at the surgery were amazing and saw him straight away! They were kind, compassionate and very understanding. They also kept me informed throughout what was happening.
I can not fault them...Amazing!!

Had to come in when my dog became ill on holiday. Got an appointment the same day. The vet took the time to find out exactly what was wrong and was patient with my nervous dog.

I can't thank everyone enough for the care, time and compassion they had. Again, my dog became ill on holiday, except this time it was incredibly serious. After daily visits he ended up being admitted. I got updates every few hours and I felt confident leaving him. Thank you for taking such great care of him!
