Our slow-grown Sussex and Longhorn cattle are grass-fed for the entirety of their lives and the beef is hung on the bone for at least 21 days to mature. Our heritage breed pigs live outside for their entire lives. This leads to meat with a distinctive, rich flavour and a fantastic texture, further enhanced by being hung on the bone for three weeks to mature.

Our Southdown and Hebridean lamb is slow-grown and grass-fed year-round on the wild grasses, flowers and herbs on our Sussex Low Weald farm. The meat is hung on the bone for at least 7 days to mature.
Services
Townings Farm is a traditional Low Weald family farm situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside, on the edge of the beautiful South Downs National Park between the villages of Chailey, Plumpton, and Wivelsfield Green. We specialise in meat from traditional breeds, reared on our farm as naturally as possible to give the very best flavour.

Fantastic tasty produce, great customer service. Hebridean x South Down lamb, the best of both worlds, lean and sweet.
Slow-reared pork makes for the tastiest pork chops. The home-made sausage rolls are to die for! Lots of other local produce and a great place to refill your Ecover cleaning products.

Best bacon I've ever had, eggs are a lovely rich orange/yellow and the blubeberry sparkle is great for brunch.

We shop there regularly and love it - fresh produce, organic products, own butchery (handy if you're after specific cut) and cleaning products for refill. They also offer local eggs as 'refill'...you bring your trays and you save £££. I love this as I have many egg trays at home, that I rather reuse than recycle.

Bit remote, tired decor outside but shop inside is nice, friendly staff. Recommend a visit.
They should update signage and promote more, i didn't know it existed until passing by.

Excellent meat and chicken. Spaghetti Bolognese with their beef mince in is one of life's pleasures. We roasted one of their chickens a couple of weeks ago and it was very tasty. The sausages are top draw too.
