We are a family run business offering delicious home cooked food in a quirky converted old school. The Old School Tea Room is situated in the idyllic village of Hebden, near Grassington. We offer a selection of delicious home made dishes and tasty cakes using locally sourced ingredients, as well as snacks, cakes and salads and takeaways.

We cater for meat eaters as well as vegetarian and vegan diets. On Thurs we will be offering cakes, snacks and boxed sarnies & salads, and on Friday & Satuday it will be a light menu including paninis and soup.
Services
We support many of our wonderful local suppliers - Dales Dairy, Park View Stores Bakery, Weatherheads Butchers of Grassington, Lonton Coffee and Class One Fruit and Veg to name just a few. We have a good selection of food that is served all day long. There are hearty options, healthy options, vegan ad meaty options, so something to suit everyone.
The Old School dates back to 1874 and is full of character, including the old school clock which was restored in the millennium and continues to chime every hour. From inside, there is a picturesque view down to the beck and across the fields and there is also large garden area with seating available to customers.

Another visit, this time for Christmas afternoon tea. It did not disappoint. I'll confidently say that this is the best afternoon tea around. It's very reasonably priced and you get plenty of food.

A great little tea stop in the Dales. Although it's called a tea shop, their lunch is fantastic. We particularly like the outside seating in the garden.

Booked an afternoon tea here recently after wanting to visit for a long time and was not disappointed. Food was amazing- I had the veggie options and really liked the choices of sandwich fillings, side salad and pastries. The scones and cakes were yummy. Pretty much inhaled the lot in super quick time! Will be going back for more!!
The staff were friendly and helpful and the tearoom looked lovely with all the Xmas lights up. A perfect end to a festive trip to the Dales!

A great lunch stop on a walk from Grassington. Guinea pigs, chickens and goats in the garden for a small distraction, and some of the most gregarious sparrows I've seen.
The food was excellent, although the cakes are enormous (and sweet). The service was quick and friendly.

Called in after a 5 mile walk, superb food, great service. The afternoon teas looked great too on their three tiered stands. Met three cute goats outside. We'll worth a visit.

Nice cafe with inside and outside seating. Tables well spaced. Children's play area. Plenty of street parking. Nice little village. We had a baked potato each with 2 different fillings each. Came with a lovely varied salad. Served at table by pleasant staff. Not expensive. We enjoyed.

This place was absolutely amazing. From the views, to the service, atmosphere, and quality of food, this place was a dream. My partner and I were on holiday for only a few days and we came here twice. The toasted ciabatta selections were quality made and the baked goods were delectable. Vegan friendly too! Highly recommend!

This is one of the best places to have coffee or a quick bite to eat, the staff are extremely well mannered and super friendly. If you ask for any recommendations they will happily give you a selection of things to choose from. The vibrant garden is a very nice place to sit out in the sun / warm weather, it is definitely one of the best coffee spots around this area. All of the coffees we ordered were extremely fresh and rich with flavour, this was definitely the best coffee I’ve had in a long time, highly recommend.

We had pre booked a table to have afternoon tea. We arrived 3 minutes early and were made to feel like a nuisance as they set the table around us. We then waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Despite it all being prebooked. A couple of the staff were a little short but another was really nice and helpful. We maybe just caught them on a bad day as we had been recommended the establishment as a must visit. On a positive note the food was lovely. The afternoon tea included sandwiches, cakes, salad, scones. And the tea came in proper China tea pot and tea cups. We liked that. Also I massive positive

Your homemade cakes are to die for and the coffee was fab too. Great service and friendly staff. Your outdoor area is beautiful, it's lovely to sit outside and hear the birds in your garden and to see the goats. We will definitely be making another trip back soon.

Lunch was just as wonderful as ever; whenever we are in the Dales we come here for lunch as it's such a beautiful old building with a pretty garden.

The vegetarian special was delicious and filling and the selection of homemade cakes here is always excellent.

Absolutely, definitely a recommend.
