Services
Ellen Fay Solicitors specialise in helping elderly clients and vulnerable adults across England and Wales. We provide expert advice on a range of legal and financial issues that may be faced by elderly people, vulnerable adults and their families in later life.

This may include dealing with the administration of your affairs, helping you or a family member to maintain independence, advising you on funding care and resolving issues about NHS continuing care.We can also provide guidance on going into a care home. By building long lasting relationships with all of our clients and their families we are able to quickly understand unique circumstances and provide swift solutions.
Power of Attorney is a legal document which allows you to appoint one or more persons known as Attorneys to act and make decisions on your behalf in relation to your property and finances or your health and welfare at a time when you may no longer be capable of acting or making those decisions yourself.
Has a member of your family been involved in an accident, suffers ill health or has a learning disability and as a result of which they are not mentally capable of making decisions for themselves?. Then they may need legal protection.

If they do not have a valid Lasting Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney (Learn more about Powers of Attorney) then an application may need to be made to the Court of Protection to have someone (usually a member of the family) known as a deputy appointed to manage their financial affairs. As Court of Protection Solicitors, we can help you to make an application to the Court of Protection to appoint a deputy.
If you feel that your day to day life at home is becoming more difficult and you need a little extra help and support then we can help. Ellen Fay Solicitors can act as your professional attorney or we can act on behalf of a family member or friend who has been appointed as your attorney. Do you need someone you can trust to look after your financial affairs?
If you require care in your own home or in a care home the Local Authority will carry out a means tested assessment to determine whether you should fund the cost of care yourself (known as 'Self Funding') or whether you are eligible to receive funding for care from the Local Authority. If the Local Authority is involved in arranging the care services then they are responsible for paying the fees.
