Hewenden Mill Cottages
Ideally placed in the heart of heritage rich Bronte country, nestled deep within a tranquil and secluded valley. Hewenden Mill's luxury self catering accommodation offers the perfect place to relax and unwind. Set within 11 acres of ancient woodlands, our holiday cottages, apartments and town houses have been lovingly converted from a Grade II listed, 18th century cotton mill complex, creating a unique five star, rural retreat.

Externally the accommodation speaks of Yorkshire's impressive industrial heritage, echoing the drama of nearby Salts Mill, yet the beautiful accommodation that lies within, is wonderfully clean, contemporary and incredibly comfortable. Secluded but in no way isolated, Hewenden Mill Cottages provide an ideal base for exploring some of the North's most beautiful and historic places.

All our accommodation has access to free Wi-fi ensuring your connection with the outside world can be easily maintained -for those in search of an escape, this is entirely optional!
The advantage of being surrounded by ancient bluebell woods is that the walks start from your doorstep. Recently recognised as a "World Heritage Site", Saltaire is a perfect day trip destination. Salts Mill is a must - browse around the bookshop, visit the David Hockney gallery, do a spot of shopping in the very trendy and expensive "Home", and finish with lunch in Salts Diner - all under one roof!

A visit to Haworth is a must when holidaying in Hewenden - The Bronte Parsonage offers a wonderful insight into the lives of the extraordinary Bronte sisters. The cobbled main street, so evocative of a bygone era, is lined on both sides with apothecaries, antique shops, cafes and second hand bookshops.
Secluded, but in no way isolated, the tranquil and wooded valley of Hewenden provides a restful retreat yet there are many wonderful shops, cafes and pubs within a mile radius of the accommodation. The three villages of Cullingworth, Wilsden and Harden form a triangle around the valley offering guests the opportunity to eat out or stay in with excellent take-aways and well stocked mini-markets.
Short breaks in Hewenden are super flexible with arrivals possible on any day except Sunday (and even this by arrangement). There is a minimum booking of 2 nights. We look forward to welcoming you to Hewenden after 4pm but can often accommodate an earlier check-in by arrangement. If you think you may arrive after 6pm we would be very grateful if you contact us with an estimated time of arrival.

This place is really nice. Set in a valley in Yorkshire. The people that run the mill and cottages are really kind, and when you take a walk up out of the valley, you get a lovely view of the viaduct. You can even walk over the viaduct which would make a beautiful picture of the scenery below. Trust me, it's worth going.

Just returned from an excellent weekend at Hewenden Mill Cottages. The owners, Mr and Mrs Emmanuel, have thought of everything to make their cottages real homes from home. Good welcome breakfast with milk, cereal, toast, butter, jams, juice, tea and coffee (instant but a plunger is there if you prefer ground coffee). Very well equipped kitchen so lovely for cooking. Oil, salt and pepper there. We were in number 9 which was very comfortable, good linen, comfy sofas, downstairs loo, warm and cosy retreat from storm Deirdre's the freezing rain. Lots of space for hanging coats, a torch, umbrellas,

If this was a Hotel it would be 5☆plus.
Unbelievably clean very homely.
Ideally situated in a lovely quick area.
This is one of those places that you really don't want anyone to know about. You just want to keep it to yourself.
Janet was very welcoming. Fantastic knowledge of the area. There is a book in the cottage explaining their journey how they renovated thd Mill.
Sorry to say this...but I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay perfect. We are originally from the area but live in Australia. The house was definitely a home from home with everything we needed plus a fantastic welcome package on arrival. Susan was so helpful and it was such a pleasure to meet Janet. We had a couple of family gatherings and it was lovely to have a picnic outside in the gardens. We will be back one day I hope.
