The birth of our children focuses the mind and when the founders, Galyna Kurylo and Dr Kevin Rigley were looking for childcare for their daughter, it became apparent that the sector concentrated on childcare rather than education. That was in 2008, and as a result our Wimbledon nursery became the first Willows Pre-School.
Of course, any business is only as good as the people trusted to take your vision and make it real. We were incredibly fortunate to have Maria Solari as our first Principal. Her passion, dedication and warmth for staff, parents and particularly children created Willows. Together with Galyna and Kevin they created high quality learning environments where children could become the best version of themselves.

Amidst the mayhem and uncertainty of the last year let me offer a warm welcome to you and your children and a thank you for your interest in Willows Pre-School. The last year has shown more clearly than at any other time, the incredible value of early years education in children's outcomes.
The government commissioned report from Frank Field (2010) showed overwhelming evidence that children's development in the first five years of life has the strongest impact on their life chances.In addition, it was clearly shown that Parental engagement with a child's education in early years is a key factor in children becoming happy, lifelong learners.

At the very heart of the Willows approach is our belief that parents, teachers and children contribute equally to the learning journey in a meaningful way. We help parents to be knowledgeable and creative members of a supportive educational team. We have taken the very best ideas from educationalist philosophies that include Froebel, Vygotsky, Montessori, Steiner and Reggio Emilia.
