In counselling I offer a space to think, discuss, understand and move forward to make positive change. Are you experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression or have worries that seem to overwhelm you? Psychotherapy can offer you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable.
Seeing a counsellor can provide a safe space in a confidential, non-judgemental setting to explore some of these feelings and find a way forward. My name is Martina and I work as a counsellor with both individuals and couples. I use psychoanalytic therory to draw links between the past and the present in an attempt to understand uncounscious roots in present day thoughts and behaviours.

Services
I have been a counsellor for 30 years. I have worked for Relate as a couple counsellor, I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS working with stressed Doctors and I now work in my own private practice. My Relate training means that I am specialised in couple counselling, however I have also undertaken further training in order to also work specifically with individuals.
Psychotherapy is a helping relationship that gives you the space to think about yourself and your life. By thinking and talking together with a trained psychotherapist, you may find it easier to understand how past experiences, current patterns of thought and behaviour, or anxieties about the future are causing difficulties in your present life.
Supervision offers a supportive, mentoring and learning environment in which a practitioner has space to reflect and re-examine sessions with clients. In doing so we explore unconscious implications of clinical interventions, the therapeutic relationship, ethical dilemmas, blind spots and the impact of the institutional/ contextual settings on client work.
The next step is to phone me on 0121 602 5768 to make an initial appointment. I will be able to answer any questions you have and we can agree on a mutually suitable time as I offer both daytime and evenings appointments. My practice is situated on the A456 Hagley Road between Birmingham and Hagley in Halesowen.
