Services
The nursery is situated on a key bus route. The major walkway routes to and from the nursery are generally well maintained, lit and signed, and provide an easy means of travel for local parents and carers. The nursery has secure storage facilities for light buggies only and a limited number of bicycles.
Our Shoreham nursery is set in a former Victorian police station. The nursery offers a warm and nurturing home from home feel with outstanding outdoor play spaces and a wide range of age appropriate resources. A dedicated baby room is a feature of the nursery which ensures that our youngest children are given the very best start to nursery life.
We operate a Key Person system which ensures that your child is consistently cared for by the same member of staff. As much as possible, your child will be fed and have nappy changes with the same person and have play and social interaction with them throughout the day. We understand that young babies in particular need to develop a strong bond with their carer in order to feel secure.
Once you have registered with us, we are happy for you and your child to attend as many settling-in sessions as required prior to their start date at nursery. We recommend that you attend at least three sessions, but we often find that very young children require more than this in order for feel safe and secure at nursery.
We understand that as parents of young children you will know best what your child will enjoy eating at nursery. At Sunshine Day Nursery, we emphasise the importance of a healthy diet and exercise and we provide healthy snacks, water and ordinary milk. We ask that you provide ready made bottles of formula milk and meals for the day.

I really recommend Sunshine. Both my children have been to Sunshine 🌞 and have thrived in the environment. The nursery really do go above and beyond. My daughter had a medical situation and the staff stayed calm and reassured her the whole time whilst waiting for additional support and care. Throughout the covid pandemic they have been amazing and… have been flexible and accommodating with swaps and genuinely always engaging and active with their care. My girls have both created positive attachments with the staff and it's so lovely to see how excited they get when they see their

My grandchildren went here 4days a week both grew into confidant children with good social skills and manners the staff became more friends than nursery ladies mums &dads if you have to work it's the place to put what is the most treasured possession you have and know that they are safe happy and cared for keep it up girls mums need you from a great full nanny

Our son has been coming to the sunshine since he was 10 months old. We are gutted we have had to take him out of nursery as he loves being there. The staff have all done such a great job in settling him into the nursery. They are always welcoming and happy to help. He has always had a great bond with all staff and is going to miss you all. He loves… coming home singing the songs he has learnt in the French lessons and with long tall singing Simon or the moves he has learnt from Lucy's dance lessons or making us sit down for circle time. Thank you for helping Louis become the boy his is today

Since our daughter Emily has moved nurseries to Sunshine, we have noticed how more confident she has become, that is all thanks to the expectional care that all the staff provide. Every time Emily comes home from her nursery session she is always happy to talk about her day. She loves it at sunshine!

My daughter has gone to sunshine since she was 9 months. The staff are friendly and welcoming and my daughter talks about them frequently. I visited a few nurseries I walked in and it didn't feel right but as soon as I walked in the door here it just hit me this was the best place for my girl. I would def recommend this nursery to people.
