People often ask us why we decided to run a boarding kennel and cattery, and sometimes we ask ourselves the same question! For years we both worked in unfulfilling jobs to finance our dream to run a kennels and cattery. From the first day we had a clear vision of our goal - to do one job and do it extremely well.
These diseases are life threatening and frequently cause the animal's death. All are highly infectious and are easily passed from pet to pet. Leptospirosis can also be passed from dogs to humans. We insist that all dogs and cats staying with us are fully vaccinated with up to date boosters against these diseases.
At Ad Astra Dog Boarding Kennels we provide everything your dog will need during their stay. We have a good stock of toys and treats, which are given to every dog, but you are welcome to bring their favourite treats, bedding and toys that may help them settle in. For bedding we use vet bed and high backed plastic beds.
At Ad Astra Boarding Cattery we try to provide a friendly and loving atmosphere for the cats, with as many home comforts as possible. Each time we go into the cattery we take time to talk to the cats, give them a few small treats and (where they are amenable) fuss, cuddle stroke and brush them. We provide everything your cat will need during its stay, but you are welcome to bring their favourite bedding and toys that may help them settle in.
We keep a large stock of all types of food for the pets that are staying with us. A range of complete foods, tinned and frozen meat are available for purchase along with a selection of treats and toys. Dogs Dinner and Cats Dinner Premium Complete Foods are made exclusively for us by one of Europes leading pet food manufacturers.

I have used this kennels for my dog Bruno for the last 3 years. Nothing is too much trouble, Bruno loves coming and always returns home happy and healthy. I had to extend his stay last month with no notice and Anna put my mind at ease and I knew Bruno was safe and happy.

Very grateful to Anne, Andrew and staff - Maggie (Lakeland Terrier) had a stroke while I was in Sweden - they took immediate action, taking her to the vets and then onto Scunthorpe for overnight care. If it wasn’t for their care and attention Maggie would not be here with me now - she’s made a full recovery. Totally recommended and eternally grateful. Sue Green (and Maggie) 💗💗

I first met Andrew after being let down by my usual kennels and a friend recommended Andrew and the team to me and although I was very reluctant at first as I wouldn't hand my boys over to just anyone I'm so glad I did.
I could tell from the minute Andrew picked them up that he loved his job and my boys were in safe hands. They took to him straight… away. They so look forward to me saying "who's coming today....is it Andrew" they jump around all over the place and jump straight in his van happy as anything.
I would never recommend somebody I didn't trust with all my heart but these guys

The best Kennels in the area. I would not take my dog Dapper anywhere else you only have to mention Anna the owner and his tail wags it's like home from home for Dapper. The care the animals receive is 100% great staff spotless kennels, I can highly recommend Gibdyke Lodge and the grooming side Hair of the dog

It's The BEST Kennels EVER and my precious 'Family' ONLY have the BEST. I wouldn't take my Dogs ANYWHERE else even though it is in Thorne and I'm in Langold. Well worth the extra distance for the Quality of Care. They also offer a collection and returns service and have a Grooming Service. Hair of The Dog. By Anna .... Highly Recommended...
