Services
Pat and Mike Parkin have been proprietors of The Old Vicarage since they converted the building into a care home in 1987. The Old Vicarage and its gardens, belong to the residents who have chosen to make it their home. We are here, as a team, to watch over the Home, to make sure that we provide holistic care* in a friendly, family atmosphere.
Our in house services are arranged to make life as straight forward and stress free as possible. Needless to say our residents no longer have to worry about things like council tax, utility bills and maintenance issues. We provide a working telephone so there will not be the need to have a line installed or pay line rental charges.
We pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of care to all our residents, in a relaxed and friendly way. We aim to keep people independent, and give them the confidence to make the most of living here. Making a decision to live in a residential care home can be a difficult time, but we aim to help and support residents, family and friends through this transition, and provide on-going quality care thereafter.
A respite stay at The Old Vicarage gives many people the opportunity to enjoy time with our friendly and welcoming staff and residents. Some respite guests stay several times a year and our short stay room can be booked in advance. Many people also use a respite stay to see if our home is the right choice for a longer stay in the future.
The Old Vicarage is set in a beautiful countryside location and has the feeling of a country hotel, while having the benefits and security of a residential care home. People with care needs often feel vulnerable in new situations and can, therefore avoid going on holiday, missing out on the experiences they used to enjoy.

Thank you for the fantastic service you supplied to my fatherThomas, As I am the only surviving family member and living 4000 miles away it was a blessing to know that my father was in great hands, They also welcomed me and fed me well on my visits to dad over the period he was there, the staff are all extremely proficient in all that they do.
