Services
The story of the White Lodge Hotel began in 1856 when a private residence, the South Crescent Villa was built. It was a substantial fourteen room property, boasting its own wine cellar, stables, coach house, greenhouse and lawn tennis court. The villa was part of a small group of properties built on South Crescent.
Most of the bedrooms have been decorated with a subtle seaside accent. Our beds are sourced from Yorkshire based Harrison Spinks, wallpaper from Jessica Hogarth of Whitby and artwork from Staithes artist Ian Mitchell. As the hotel sits in a beautiful setting, most of our rooms have sea views, some with balconies, some combining a Crescent view, others overlook the leafy Glen Gardens.
The wine offering focusses on wines that are not slavishly from the New World or stubbornly from the Old. Whilst a New Zealand Viognier maybe present, you won't have to look too hard to find a reliable claret. Expect to see a good selection of single malt Scotch whiskies, plus a decent smattering from further afield.
The White Lodge Hotel, with its generously proportioned private dining room, is the natural venue to host significant life events and special family celebrations. It also lends itself perfectly to meetings, conferences and also acts as a resource for local initiatives. The room also plays host to an array of fun occasions, from theatre dinners, opera nights and food and wine tastings.
With its views down Filey's elegant Crescent, our lounge, with its real fires, broadsheet newspapers and quality magazines is the perfect place to relax. Enjoy our freshly ground coffee, the finest teas and our legendary home made shortbread. Indulge yourself with a full traditional afternoon tea, served daily from 1pm to 5pm.

Our meal in the restaurant was outstanding. In fact, it was so good that we considered going the next night as well. If we'd done that, I might have asked for two orders of the Shetland mussels, one for my starter and one for my main (yes, they were that good!). My husband is still talking about his dinner of fillet steak with creamy peppercorn sauce. Oh, and the seeded rolls - wow! The service was also excellent.
