I am writing this now because I cannot sleep.
We stayed at this hotel with my family while visiting a nearby school. Unfortunately I did not know the hotel restaurant becomes a nightclub all night long. We were on the third floor and it was like I was standing in the middle of the club 4 floors below me. The sign in the hallway asking for quiet was the most ironic thing I have ever seen. Even after the music way after I was told it might stopped drunk patrons yelled as they steamed into the streets.
I also enjoyed the convient parking 1/2 mile away at the shopping mall in town as the parking

A visit to family required a stay in Clifton and this hotel suited our needs. A 2 Star cheap hotel with no thrills, nice enough room which was clean, spacious albeit very tired much in need of a revamp but nevertheless adequate. The info mentions external noise and boy was there until midnight mid week! Hotel is deep in University country so beware. Parking is our main issue, again it states that it’s first come first served and carpark was full by the time of our arrival. What was a surprise was the advise with a map handout showing nearest alternate parking a mere 45 minute walk away??? Parking

Room was too small as well as the bathroom - the shower wouldn't point downwards in a straight line that sprays towards the shower curtain and nearly floods the bathroom. The bathroom also smells of heat. I didn't think much to breakfast because croissant was cold. Also, TV remote didn't work so I had no TV for the whole weekend

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom decoration had been updated in the not too distant past. Breakfast was good.
The big issue for us was that there didn't seem to be enough sound insulation. The basement bar underneath the room was so noisy the room was vibrating and you could hear voices through the floor - through to around midnight. You could also hear conversations out in the corridor. Not good enough for anything called a 'hotel'.

We came to stay at the Clifton hotel for one night to attend the Bristol hippodrome . We booked two rooms one king at £167.00 the others single at £110.00. The £110.00 room was a little cramped but the bathroom was not up to standard. I was shocked when opening the shower cubicle in the morning to find the ceiling completely covered with mould. This is not acceptable. The £167.00 room was dog friendly. We were greeted with a bed that had a blanket on it which was holding dust the room was also dusty. I have never stayed in a hotel with a dirty blanket on the bed! Our dog had her own bed does

There was a very helpful and friendly deputy manager on duty when I arrived, who tried her best to make my stay positive. She ended up being one of the only good things about my stay, the other thing being the location of the hotel which is very near where my son lives.
Unfortunately my room was situated on top of the entrance to the hotel so it was noisy on all 3 nights of my stay but especially noisy on the Friday night until
2am.
Very loud family staying in next room or maybe the partition wall is too thin !
Shocking lack of room cleaning and replenishing of coffee and tea. Also no ground

A few pounds can make a huge difference sometimes. When traveling solo, I usually book single rooms... However, when booking online for the Clifton, I noticed I could have a double for just a bit more. What a delightful spacious room with a large comfortable double bed and a huge attached bathroom. Very friendly staff, excellent food at the cafe downstairs and a location in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Bristol. Highly recommended.

From the outside the hotel looked charming and inviting. Set in the quiet end of the city, with the quaint shops and bars and interesting streets of Clifton village, we thought we had chosen well.
As we entered the building we were pleasantly surprised by the cosy coffee shop in the lobby, which invited you to sit in comfort with the latest newspapers and magazines.
The staff were friendly and efficient, despite the reception seeming a little 'makeshift' (basically just a table, chair and laptop...but what else do you need).

Clifton Hotels have four separate hotels dotted around Bristol, ranging in style and price. The Clifton Hotel is not what I expected-in a good way. I was prepared for snobbery and immediate prejudice at my jeans and hoodies combo. However, my own prejudices turned out to be so wrong. The receptionists were the politest I've encountered and the décor of the reception hall was more bohemian than stuffy. I was thrilled to see that they had made a real effort to appeal to the younger customers. The rooms were cheap and there were some fantastic offers for students. The staff knew the needs of
