Daikento Shukokai has been established in Darwen Lancashire since 2006 by its Instructors Anthony Slack & Paul Wareing, and was formally known as Blackburn Shukokai (etstablished 1970) when previousley based at Shadsworth Leisure Centre under the leadership of Michael Shuttleworth. We are now located in the upstairs function room of Hollins Grove Conservative Club, Blackburn Road, Darwen Lancashire.
We are totally committed to achieving high standards within our Dojo, and except nothing less than 100% from all our younger and senior students. Daikento Shukokai instructors offer over 45 years of experience in Shukokai Karate and currently offer training sessions for children and adults. Gradings / belts will only be given to students based on skill and achievement, not just attendence.

Services
Okinawan martial arts have for a long time used the body weapon known as Daikento, the great fist sword, to deliver the power of Ikken hissatsu (to Kill with one blow). The Daikento is both a hand formation and a mental attitude. The Daikento is known today by most Karate styles as Seiken, the right fist.
