The Sun Pavilion, situated in Valley Gardens has a long rich history in the town of Harrogate. It traces back to 1571 when William Slingsby discovered a mineral spring, Tewit Well, in High Harrogate, the first medicinal spring in England to have the name spa attached to it. In 1869 a scheme for improvement of the gardens was commissioned, this included the building of the Sun Pavilion and the colonnade.
The Sun Pavilion is a beautiful wedding venue in Harrogate, nestled in the town's Grade II listed Valley Gardens. We're also just a short walk from the town centre. Whether you're looking for that perfect spot to enjoy both your wedding ceremony and reception, or in need of somewhere to celebrate after your service elsewhere, The Sun Pavilion is a uniquely romantic venue with much to offer.
We love showing couples round in person, it's the best way to get a feel for the venue for your wedding or event. We can also arrange viewings at other times, typically when we're preparing for a wedding. The Sun Pavilion is an incredible venue. The setting of Valley gardens is beautiful. We had our ceremony and reception drinks on the terrace and the backdrop of greenery and flowers in bloom was stunning. Clare who looked after us up until the wedding day was fantastic. She always replied to my questions quickly and worked with me with the constant changing of roadmap rules. Stuart and his team looked after us on our wedding day and they were amazing and I have had lots of comments from our guests at what a great job they did with their professional, yet welcoming and relaxed service. The Sun Pavilion were amazing at helping us to schedule our day and answering all our questions even amongst all the problems going on they were phenomenal through it all, especially a great thanks to Kirsty and Georgia and Stuart for all their help, I just know our wedding day is going to be amazing on Saturday. Beautiful location but bar very limited in range and very expensive (think London prices+) however biggest problem was that even though prices were astronomical the staff seem completely unable to use the price list. Manager was rude when challenged about the fact that the price of a bottle of prosecco had moved from £27-£38 over the course of 3 hours. Shame to be giving a negative review to a venue that otherwise was wonderful for our cousin's wedding

Very unique wedding venue let down by two major issues - unfortunately spoiling would could be a 5 star venue. 1. The parking is horrendous, a function hall should be able to cater for its patrons. This venue has capacity for 150 guests but parking only for four cars!!! Furthermore staff attitude compounds the issue. Staff were very unhelpful in providing a solution to the issue. They didn't even stock parking disks which are compulsory to use in Harrogate if parking in disc zones!. Disc zones only give you three hours by the way.
