Services
At The Limes we are fortunate to have extended scope physiotherapists as part of our team. Their role is to provide expert assessment of musculoskeletal problems and advise on initial management. This does not mean that they will provide ongoing formal physiotherapy treatment - this is done via the normal physiotherapy department.
To make an appointment, please telephone 0116 2864421, and one of our trained receptionists will assist you with booking an appointment with a clinician. We also offer pre-bookable appointments early morning on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. Nurse Appointments - 6-week rota on a system for Practice Nurse Appointments, various clinics and slots allocated to each session.
Earache is cited as the most common reason for a parent to call a doctor out of hours for their child. You can use over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen to treat the pain. Your pharmacist may be able to recommend over-the-counter eardrops for your earache, but let them know your symptoms and ask for their advice first.
Bouts of diarrhoea in adults may also be brought on by anxiety or drinking too much coffee or alcohol. In adults, diarrhoea caused by gastroenteritis will usually clear up in two to four days when the infection has cleared. Taking antidiarrhoeal medicine is usually not necessary unless it is important that you shorten the length of time your diarrhoea lasts (for example, if you need to take a long-haul flight).
It can mean that you are not passing stools (poo) regularly, or you are unable to completely empty your bowels. Many people only experience constipation for a short time, but for others, constipation can be a chronic (long-term) condition that causes significant pain and discomfort and affects quality of life.

Absolutely horrendous service, Dr Rowley was a very good doctor however since his retirement I have been passed around multiple doctors, having to explain my chronic illness over and over, it's bad enough waiting so long for appointments and the hour long call queue but to then be confronted by a different face each time. Nothing is being resolved! The excuse currently is that they are busy with covid however we all know, as the phone message states, that anyone with covid isn't allowed in the doctors. Sort it out!!!!

I've almost always had a positive experience at the limes, some lovely doctors and nurses, however understanding the covid pandemic has put extra strain on this service the same as it has for everyone things are not getting any better, just today it took 20 mins on the enquiry line after being told I was number one in the queue, the practice is used by several villages in the Narborough vicinity and quoting what another person has said in these reviews " has 16,000 registered patients " the practice needs to be bigger with more appointment availability.

The Limes is a very busy practice with over 16,000 registered patients in a village with a population of less than 8,500, which tells you something about its popularity.
Yes, it’s sometimes difficult to make appointments and, yes, those appointments can be up to two weeks away but we’ve been through a pandemic in the last 15 months.
They have also introduced a telephone system that will call you back when you are near the front of the queue to avoid hanging on the phone for hours.
They were also very proactive in sorting out our vaccinations (we’re both in our 60s).
Of course they’re

Nurses have always been lovely, Dr's are a bit hit and miss but the most frustrating thing is that you cannot just drop a quick email through! No email address on their web site so you have to hold for ages on the phone when someone with a serious issue could be getting through or register with some NHS system. I just need to answer a text you sent me but cannot get through!!! You are missing an important form of communication with your patients.

Why can't my husband (who only has one functioning ear) get ear irrigation when other surgeries in the country offer this procedure? He is becoming more distressed with this added deafness due to wax build-up and yet apparently due to "Covid" this
procedure is not available and he will have to pay £55 for one ear to be done by Specsavers. Please advise when will the nurse led ear-syringing service will resume. I telephoned the Limes surgery last Friday to organise an appointment for my husband who has been using a wax softening spray (as recommended by his hearing aid specialist) but was told

Been with The Limes for many years now and am always really happy with the service. Sometimes the appointment wait can be be a couple of weeks, but if you state it’s more urgent then that wait, then they always sort something else out without fail so never go without some sort of care in urgent situations. They even stitched my daughter up to save me having to go to a hospital! They caught my sisters blood cancer really quickly which saved her, and diagnosed my Dads situation when no one else could. We are very lucky to have such a good service in a small village.
