Our online consultation service eConsult has contributed to an increasing demand over recent months. Therefore for the surgery to maintain safe working practices, Victoria Park Health Centre is returning to a more traditional service. Providing a health service to students of the University of Leicester and local residents.

Victoria Park Health Centre has provided primary medical care to the students of the University of Leicester for many years. Originally as Medical Officers but becoming independent from the University in 1983. The practice is fully conversant with the spectrum of health care needs within this academic community and the surrounding city population.

A clinical pharmacist is an expert in medicines; a pharmacist is trained for 5 years at university and also during work based placements. Some pharmacists complete further clinical training after qualifying and this may include training to prescribe medicines.

Our clinical pharmacists will work with individual patients to make sure the medicines they have been prescribed continue to be of benefit to each patient, taking in to account any changes in symptoms or clinical circumstances. This will be a medication review appointment, patients are encouraged to ask questions about medicines they are prescribed and also those they purchase when they meet with the clinical pharmacist.
Krishna Solanki and Zainab Patel - The management team are employed by the Practice and are responsible for the general day to day running of the Surgery. This includes; patient services, practice and staff development, financial management, human resources, premises management and information technology.
When the practice is closed, there is an out of hours' emergency medical service available at all times. This service is meant for urgent and emergency problems and should not be used to avoid the inconvenience of consulting during the day. On dialling 111 a team of fully trained advisers and experienced nurses will assess your condition and direct you to the local service that can help you best, when you need it.
We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive the Practice and our staff. To help us with this, we are setting up a Virtual Patient representation Group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you have received.

My whole family have used the surgery for a long time now. Recently however I've seen a significant drop in the service provided.
Appointments are consistently and considerably late. They were 50 mins late for my sons ear infection appointment. Its not easy entertaining a two year old in a socially distanced surgery. My other son had jabs which were over an hour late! my brother in law recently had an appointment for 10:30 and was seen at 13:00!!!
Reception staff are rude and unhelpful (especially the male). I feel they most likely put you down the waiting list if you dare complain.

I have had issues with how I was being treated at this surgery from the very beginning, when I had to wait over two weeks to swap to this surgery - they were having problems with my records, and no one told me anything until I actually went into the surgery asking what was going on. I decided to let it slide, but since then I have had multiple experiences where the people in reception were rude and did not seem to want to speak to me.
The vast majority of the times I have an appointment with a doctor, it feels like my concerns and input are not being taken seriously, and for a young woman with

Before you even open your mouth the receptionist will tell you to go online. Go online and you have to fill out a long winded questionaire that is completely irritating and inconvenient for anyone that doesn't have all day to mess about filling it in. Then you have to wait days to get to talk to someone and then even longer to see someone. Rubbish system over all.

I’ve found this GP so far to be very good. Quick turnaround, easy to use online service and nice GP’s. Can’t say 5 stars because I’ve not seen them in person.

Hi Victoria Park Health Centre,
I really appreciate your services. However, whenever I call to make an appointment waiting in the queue and only to be told to get on your website is very frustrating. Then when I go to your website and find the health problem I needed help with, it then tells me at the end that I need to end the consultation and speak to someone else regarding the problem. I am mainly being sent around in circles and it is painfully inefficient and costly of your and my time. Why can't I just get an appointment on the phone after telling you the issue or at least get my phone number

Upsetting stressful experience dealing with this clinic. Left feeling more stressed out, and more concerned with less hope and confidence with having a new GP than I did going in.
Was recommended, by the doctor, to use private health care, despite having already paid thousands of dollars for NHS services for my student visa, before starting school here.
She seemed to be bitter and full of disdain for me. She was rude, unempathetic, and her attitude was unkind and unhelpful.
The doctor gave me the impression that she didn't care about my well-being or the impact of my unexpected health issues

Unfortunately I find myself having no other choice but to downgrade my rating back to 1 star. After the implementation of "e-consult" on the surgery's website, if you called the receptionists would force you to use it, making it impossible to simply request a booking for consultation as was the case before e-consult and used to take 30 seconds in my experience. On e-consult you're faced with a barrage of questions and a long and time-consuming form that will guaranteed give you depression and make you lose the will to live. Not only that the surgery felt it was somehow appropriate to pre-record

When I compare the service here with friends experiences I am relieved to be a patient here. Tolerable wait times for appts, lots of doctors and nurses available and speedy responses where followup is needed. Thank you!

0 stars. Incredibly poor experience and service at this GP. Service staff are very rude and not respectful, definitely encountered an issues with fairness and equality compared to other people. Treatment feels very selective and borders on racism. GP seem to make it impossible to have an appointment. Earliest appointment I could get was 3 days away by telephone for an urgent appointment, told receptionist and they marked it as non urgent. I will be complaining to the NHS regarding the approach to treatment of clients and the blatant avoidance of face to face appointments. Not surprised to also

I swapped over to here from another local surgery and am so pleased I did. They have been consistently professional, so helpful and easy to book with. In the short time I have been there, test results have been easily accessible, each doctor or nurse I have seen has been so understanding and I haven't felt rushed in appointments.
They have several pharmacists working for them and so any medication requests or queries are answered in a very timely manner.
I like the e-consult service too as it means non urgent problems are still resolved quickly. I needed access to medical records including letters
