Fantastic food. Went for a works christmas party and could not find anything wrong with the food. It was so nice

The food was wonderful, delicious salmon pate, slow cooked lamb which melted in the mouth & the best brownie I have ever eaten! Thank you for a great evening!

We had our annual pre Christmas, Family Christmas lunch today. Sadly because of Covid there were about half of us there. The food, that is always good, was absolutely fabulous!!!! The Christmas menu is fantastic. I think between us we just about covered the whole menu and each of us had food envy. As always the staff were great, service was 1st class. Well done to each and every one of you. Highly recommend.

From the outside, The Monument looks enticing and welcoming. Despite its mixed reputation for trouble which I have witnessed first hand (employ bouncers if it will prevent trouble), do not let this put you off visiting in the evening.
The garden area is great especially if you have children in tow. It’s also a good venue to watch sport with outdoor heaters installed.
The staff are super friendly - however, there have been occasions where we have been left waiting for drinks / service.

This is a really lovely friendly pub. The staff are really helpful, friendly and efficient. They were fantastic and welcoming with the children too. It has a great outdoor space with a play area and rabbits/guinea pigs to keep the children occupied.
The food was great, really tasty and a great selection. The kids menu was also really good and flexible for fussy little ones. I would highly recommend visiting. We will be back when we are next nearby.

Dropped in for a meal for 2 & no problem that we had our dogs with us.
Prompt & friendly service; fairly standard pub menu but sometimes that's exactly what you want.
Wouldn't choose The Monument for a romantic date or to impress a guest but, for a drink and evening meal, it was fine.

Really friendly people, managed to fit our large party in. Food came out fast and hot and catered well for children.

We went to The Monument with my family today for the first time in a few years.
The staff were incredibly friendly, but the beer garden and play area were run down and in need of a lot of care. We ordered some simple food, sausage, chips and beans for the little one - never a bad choice. A burger- also quite good. But the rest of the food we ordered was sub-par.
Loaded chips that were so greasy. A halloumi burger that was so dry I couldn’t eat more than two mouthfuls, and some nachos with pulled pork. The nachos were a strange tortilla and there was so much overly sweet sauce on the meat that

Great pub with outdoor dining, under a huge canopy.
Food is amazing... mid price range.
Very covid clean and friendly, if there is another lock down, this pub should stay open!!! They have all the correct guidance in place here, to make you feel safe!!

The Monument is our local and it's great. Really friendly, nice big garden with a humongous marquee for if it's chilly/rainy, super on the ball with covid safety, and food is not bad either. They do a discount on food for locals on certain days of the week if you ask, (we always forget!) but the prices are reasonable anyway.

Visited the pub for drinks and a meal. I cannot speak highly enough on the quality of the venue, staff, food, and drinks. Safe, and well organised - it was a brilliant afternoon. Every meal was delicious and we’ll most certainly be back. Thank you.

Nice pub and great food. Service was slow but the staff was very apologetic as an expected event close by bought more peeps in than they was expecting. Beer choice was a little limited but cannot argue with the food. Great quality and quantity. Will definitely return.
