Vivienne Shelley Dance Studios
Since 1980, Vivienne Shelley Dance Studios have taught many students from all ages and abilities, in a wide range of dance classes. Based in North Staffordshire, we first specialised in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle disco, Modern and Jazz. The move to the new studios enabled the timetable to be expanded by adding Musical Theatre, Gymnastics and Street dance classes to competition level.

From then on Adult Dance and Fitness classes were also added. Classes are taught in a relaxed and safe environment and are suitable for the absolute beginner, right through to the seasoned expert. Class uniform, shoes and equipment can be bought through our shop. The friendly and professional teachers nurture talent and at the same time encourage the growth and confidence in each of our students.

Classical ballet technical training is considered to be the foundation of all dance genres. It encourages students to be aware of their posture and develop poise, flexibility and coordination, giving them the freedom to adapt their technique to any dance style. Our classes teach students the safe way to stretch and exercise to maintain healthy & strong muscles.
In the early stages, dancers are taught the names and techniques of the essential steps, following the I.D.T.A. syllabus. They will also learn about rhythms and how to build up to basic routines, both on the spot and travelling steps. As the student progresses, the classes become more structured, focusing on technique, self-control and discipline to be able to follow instructions to become a successful and mature dancer.
As the name suggests, Street Dance is a term used to describe dance that originated from the streets. Groups of people get together outside and dance, usually having dance offs to see who is the best. With our excellent street dance teacher Natalie Blake, the Studios trains all street dancers to competition level if they wish, with excellent results in solos, duos and team I.D.T.A. and UDO Competitions.
Today's Freestyle Dance developed from the disco moves of the late 1970s. The I.D.T.A. created a syllabus of the most used moves which has continued to develop and evolve into the commercial style dance we teach today. At the Studios freestyle dance classes are funky, modern and energetic.

Students have the opportunity to learn the latest freestyle, street and commercial moves, make new friends as well as improving their self-esteem, co-ordination, and creativity skills. At Vivienne Shelley Dance Studios freestyle classes we encourage students to work hard, which enables them to extend their dance skills without too many syllabus restrictions and, most of all, have fun!
Musical theatre is a combination of singing, spoken dialogue, dancing and acting, to communicate a story and to express emotions such as anger, love and happiness. If singing, acting or dancing on stage is your dream, at Vivienne Shelley Dance Studios, you can do it all. With exciting dance choreography, creative drama and voice training in a variety of singing styles, students from all ages and abilities can join in the fun!

It appears my last review has been removed & i have been blocked.
It is everybodies right to leave a review good or bad.
Well heres mine again
Very disappointed but unfortunatly not surprised.
After 6 years i am sad to leave because of the lovely mums & children that i have met.
But i will not & should not be spoken to like that. You should be ashamed of yourself for conducting yourself in such an appauling manner & infront of the children.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt and thought surely she will call this evening to apologise for her shocking behaviour. Loosing your temper like that
