Studio 5 is a family-run stage school offering classes and private tuition to pupils from 2 1/2 through to adults. Ballet tuition, modern dance and tap lessons. Studio 5 builds upon 28 years experience in dance tuition, and we pride ourselves on small class sizes and a friendly atmosphere. Our national reputation as a leading stage school is still growing thanks to many performances throughout the Midlands and the rest of the UK.
The pupils of Studio 5 have many opportunities throughout the year to demonstrate their talents and perform for a live audience. We stage our own annual show featuring all pupils, which is always a special event and a great chance for friends and family to see how pupils are progressing. Although a long established ballet school and stage school, we hold examinations in all styles of dance, which are important landmarks in a dancer's development.

Heather Peskett began her study of dance at the Norton School of Dance in Birmingham. She then continued her education at the Madame Lemisky Dance Academy in Birmingham and Betty Patterson's Theatre School, Coventry, also taking teaching qualifications at Jean Johnston's 'Silver Slipper' Ballroom School in Birmingham.
Although dance examinations are by no means compulsory at Studio 5, most of our pupils do take them. Examinations provide meaningful goals for pupils to strive for, inspiring them to attain increasingly high levels of skill. Taking a dance examination can result in a great feeling of achievement, and it also provides an invaluable source of feedback from highly respected dance examiners.
The majority of our classes for younger pupils are in ballet, tap, modern stage and acrobatics. For adults there are tap and ballet classes with personal tuition also available. Please see the timetable for lesson times. This depends both on your age and your experience, so it's something which will be established when you get in touch.

Found this studio during lock-down as they offered online classes. Having never danced in my life, I joined the adult beginners ballet and then the tap classes. Made to feel extremely welcome from day one by everyone. When restrictions lifted, classes went back into the studio and despite all my nervousness of actually being in a dance studio it's one of the things I now look forward to most every week. Classes are excellent, Mrs P is wonderful and the ladies are so welcoming and encouraging. The ballet has improved my balance and my posture and the tap is an amazing work out. It's fantastic for

Studio 5 was the start of it all for me that gave me the passion and professionalism and the highest of standards to push me in the direction I wanted to take in the world of dance & entertainment . Shows, pantomimes , competitions, Nationals and of course exams which could lead to teaching qualifications. Teachers are fantastic and take the time to make you feel like family .

An incredible place to learn not only how to dance but to have fun, exercise, make new friend's and watch yourself grow from the serial dancefloor step tapper, to a person who can actually dance!!!! Everybody has the power to learn, it simply takes each person a different time..dancing with studio 5 has taught me to push myself, practice practice practice and I will achieve!!
