UU started in 2007 from our East London workshop recycling old furniture that we found on the street. There was a lot!?.with so many hidden stories to tell. At our workshop we restore found pieces of furniture making use of natural materials and remnants of fabrics as well as collaborating with London based textile designers.
We offers a range of one-off and handcrafted pieces: chairs, armchairs, sofas, chaise longue, stools designed with a unique Urban Style. Our range of furniture also includes pieces made using discarded wood, like multifunctional stools and benches. Our products are entirely handmade and the quality difference is immediately evident.

Bespoke Upholstery - Just for you! We work collaboratively with our clients to create unique furniture or to sensitively restore a much loved antique. From consultation to design and upholstery, we are focused on creating something that matches your requirements and reflects your individual style. The process takes roughly between 4-8 weeks, depending on the type of service that your project requires.

I found Urban Upholstery online _ their web-site showed old furniture being lovely restored and old and new fabrics working magic. I think the results are spectacular - what Andrea and Patrizia have done is recycled perfectly good, yet neglected furniture and exploited my own family history which gives the pieces an added sentimental value - with a contemporary twist.

Andrea is a genius! He crafted the most wonderful piece of bespoke seating for our home, a booth with quite complex cornering — and he couldn't have created a more beautiful result. We LOVE what Urban Upholstery have done for us, and the service was attentive, communicative and pleasant. Urban Upholstery changed a leather chesterfield chair into a stunning, textured wool armchair with colourful buttons indented. It looks amazing and it receives compliments from everyone who sees it. The quality of work was really high and they were great at advising on stylish options.
Our chair experience was so good that we recently returned to the shop to get a colourful storage bench with a cushioned top. The craftmanship was once again excellent and they were really easy to work with.

Urban upholstery have worked on two chairs that we have taken to them now: a modern suede 'bucket' chair and a Regency "Spoon-back slipper' chair. The first was a complex stretching operation and we were extremely pleased with the result. The second, just completed, required complete re-upholstering and advice on fabric. The finished work was better than we could have expected...they take immense care with their work and are great to deal with - both pleasant and communicative. Highly recommended.

Went into this shop trying to find a new upholsterer as the one i have used for years has retired and i was treated in an awful way by a very arrogant dismissive woman.
Maybe she would have been more interested if she knew i am actually looking for someone to take on tens of thousands of pounds worth of work over the next year.
Very judgemental and dismissive.
