Services
Our school has been open since the 1970's. We provide excellent care and education for 2 -4-year-old children living in Dunstable and the surrounding area. We have the benefit of being purposely built and resourced for young children, so they have the very best start on their educational journey without the 'top down' pressures which may occur within a Primary School setting.
We love to welcome visitors and new families into Nursery to see how we work but during the pandemic to protect our children, families and staff we were not able to do this. We are now starting to show visitors around but visits may be limited, to ensure safety. It is a good idea to prepare your child for Nursery so their transition into education is a smooth one.
Encourage your child to tidy away their own toys into specific places at home to get them ready for 'tidy up time' at Nursery. Allow opportunities for your child to be looked after by someone else (give yourself some time!) this will help your child get used to separating from you. Have quiet times at home when the television, radio and music are switched off to encourage conversation.
The staff in Bumble Bees are Miss Heading, Miss Coleman, Miss Ball and Miss Copeland. We have 16 morning spaces and 12 afternoon spaces for funded and paying two year old children. This class is held in the Annexe; this has a separate entrance, so they are in a small, independent group. We have a wonderful outside area for the children to develop their skills.
We offer 15 hour Government funded sessions, 30 hour Government funded sessions and full time paying sessions for children the term after their 3rd birthday, when there are spaces. We like to work with parents and carers right from the start and love to find out what your child has been doing and learning at home throughout their time at Westfield.
