Services
Gill Blowers Nursery is a split site school, having one centre situated at Mossdale Court, Hockwell Ring (2-5 years), and another at Leabank, Marsh Farm (2-5 years). The nursery provides high quality early years care and education for pupils from 2-5 years of age. Although having been established for some years, they became a nursery school in 1999.
Gill Blowers Nursery has a very active governing body which meets termly. We have subcommittees for the areas of Curriculum and Standards, Finance and Resources, and Pay. The governing body is central in ensuring that policies and future plans are put into practice and that the school is held to account.
The information below is for parents/carers who would like their children to attend our school. If you would like further information, or to talk to a member of staff, please contact us. The full Admissions Policy can be accessed here. We offer funded and paid-for education spaces for children aged 2 to 4, with a small number of spaces for 5 year olds.
At Gill Blowers we have adopted the key concepts of the Curiosity and Natural Thinkers approaches. Using real life objects in first hand learning experiences, inside and out, children develop their interpersonal skills and creative, critical thinking. Children are encouraged to follow their own ideas with real, natural resources and loose parts.
The nursery may be entitled to claim additional funding - Early Years Pupil Premium (300 per eligible child) to improve the quality of the early years education that we provide for your child. The aim of this additional funding is to raise attainment and address inequalities for eligible children. Children become eligible when they turn three.
