Thyme cafe is now in its 18th year and is well established within Sheffield's eating out seen. We still believe in creating vibrant casual, unique food with big and bold flavours. The team continues to be committed to sourcing the very best ingredients directly from markets and local suppliers to offer unrivalled quality and freshness to our diners; this is reflected in our daily changing blackboard menu.
Food is served by our excellent front of house team, who offer professional, efficient service with a touch of northern charm and humour. We take limited reservations as well as operating a 'first come, first served' walk-in policy. At busy times, if we don't have a table for you straight away you can put your name on the list and pop out for a drink while you wait for the next available table.

Services
Above the hustle and bustle of Thyme Cafe sits an oasis of quiet, 'The Chef's Library'. We are bringing this intimate room, decked with books and curios, to life as a secluded dining space for small parties of eight or less. Work with Thyme Cafe owners and chefs to create a custom-built menu, it can be simple, classic or contemporary.

We found this place after a very long journey to drop our son at uni, it was just what we needed to recover. We sat in a very pleasant courtyard garden and were served by very friendly attentive but not intrusive staff. I couldn't decided what to have as it all sounded amazing. We settled on falafel burger, cheeseburger and beef chilli with nachos, they were far from run of the mill burgers , best vegetarian burger I have had. We will be back. I was only sorry not to have any cash so unable to leave tip as it couldn't be put on card but will rectify that next time.

It had been a good experience until I got my main course.
I had the prawn pasta which seems to lack any salt whatsoever - unlike any pasta I’ve had before both in the UK and in Italy - and when I politely pointed this out to the waiter, she flat out refused to acknowledge the issue. She said that this dish is not meant to be salty, and that the salt would have covered the garlic chilli favour - this is an absurd thing to say given the dish is supposed to be savoury and salt is a flavouring agent not a competing flavour. Not to mention the pasta did not taste like under salted but NONE salted

My new favourite restaurant. Friendly atmosphere and the staff are lovely. I had Risotto with Red Pepper and Feta and then the Lime and Passion fruit Cheesecake that was divine. Little pricey, but the food and service is worth it. Next time I go, I'm definitely trying the Tiger Prawn spaghetti. It's in easy walk of the 52, 120 and 30 bus routes.

11 of us went here for a family celebration and amongst us we had some special dietary needs i.e. gluten intolerant, vegetarian, a seafood allergy. They had a varied menu that offered options to accommodate the dietary needs. The portions were large and inviting and whilst it was not cheap, it was value for money. I have added a few photos of the three meat Sunday lunch, the salmon etc that we were actually served up so you can judge for yourselves.

This place has existed for as long as I've known Sheffield and the turn over in Broomhill is generally high for eateries, so that's a good sign in itself. The food is always tasty and interesting. Today I had something off the specials board. It was a huge ham hock with black pudding and potatoes. Friendly staff, but they did leave us with the bill a bit too long considering it wasn't that busy. Disabled toilet available towards the back, seats are quite packed in though. Overall good, will go again.

Lucky enough to live just a 5 minute walk from one of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield. Thyme has been a regular stop off for over 4 years now. Every guest I have had visit has been brought here! The atmosphere and food is never a disappointment. Sitting in the old church pew seating with my mum, with the Thyme Cafe fish cake on order, sometimes I wish there was just a little but more room but I guess it just says something for an always busy place! Happy Sunday!

Thyme Café is an up market bistro like eatery on Fulwood Road in Sheffield. Sister to the Thyme Restaurant and expensive but well revered restaurant in Sheffield, Thyme Café offers something a little more special for the shoppers and office workers in the area. Prices are reasonable considering the type of dishes on offer. The lunchtime offer of soup, sandwich and a drink is great value at £10. The drinks on offer with this deal include a large glass of wine for anyone tempted. The food is beautifully presented; each sandwich comes accompanied with a side serving of French fries which delightfully

It's excellent venue for a good, casual meal. Top quality food, good menu of simple home-cooking, all cooked to order in a nice relaxed environment. Compared to a formal restaurant, prices are good; however it's not that cheap as an alternative to a pub lunch or cafe equivalent.
The only issue with the place is that it's so good it's always busy and you can't book a table. They will take your name and give you an idea of when to come back so you can have a drink while you wait, but obviously a disadvantage if you're with a large party or want a guaranteed seating
