We will still be delivering the same support to children and families but together we will be able to have a greater impact on a greater need. Lockdown has increased young people's feelings of loneliness, some have struggled with anxiety and a loss of self-esteem. They are really struggling. Counselling can lead them on the path to recovery.

The next few weeks and months will be challenging for most of us, to help we've collected articles, advice and tips from Fegans' Counsellors and Parent Support Team.

Services
Fegans will work with a family for between three to eight sessions, via 1-to-1 intensive support, looking at building good relationships between the parents and their children, understanding the causes of behaviour and identifying where things are not working. Referrals for families can be made by schools, Early Help, church workers, or any other agencies involved with the family.
Most schools are struggling with issues such as exclusion, behavioural challenges, self-harm, extreme anxiety, eating disorders, depression or children who have simply withdrawn into themselves. Often schools struggle to find solutions for children who are facing these issues within the context of the normal school routine.

Due to the success of our pre-school in Maidstone, we are looking for additional bank staff who are enthusiastic, reliable and have a passion for working with young children. Ideally, we would prefer a candidate with previous childcare experience and a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in childcare, however this is not essential.
Whether it is 5 or 500, monthly or a one-off, your contribution is valued and appreciated. By setting up a monthly donation to Fegans, we can plan continued support for the children and families who need our services.
