You may be looking at our site because you are feeling like things are getting you down at the moment. You might be feeling anxious or depressed and this could be for a variety of reasons. We want you to know that we are here to offer you support and a safe place to talk about how you are feeling, in confidence, and without being judged.

Counselling is not about telling you what to do, but to encourage you to talk about what's been bothering you and to help you find ways of coping by enabling you to address your difficulties in a positive way to help you improve your quality of life.
Services
Dover Counselling Centre offers a full NHS service, which is advice, information and counselling for people aged 17 and over throughout the Dover, Shepway and Thanet areas. The IAPT service is designed for people with mild, moderate and moderate to severe, symptoms of anxiety and depressions.

You may be feeling stressed, anxious or depressed or you may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), or are worried because you feel you are unable to cope, then we are here to help.We offer a range of "talking therapies", support and help including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

no support for parents was told I was unable to access the service as I would have to bring my child along, I know it is not ideal but I have no other means of child care.

thus isolating anyone from this service in the same situation as myself.

Started of good but was constantly told I’m going round in circles and ended my sessions early because of this just didn’t help me but has referred me elsewhere

I spent years and years trying to get help, after using this counselling service once - they clearly and attentively listened to everything I had to say and were extremely helpful in getting me help and a diagnosis. I cannot recommend them enough, they do everything that they can with the resources that they have, which is not a lot.

I had some sessions with Elizabeth and it really helped me so much.
I have felt so much better, even after the sessions ended I feel I have continued to improve.
I have learned a lot more self awareness now, and healthier ways to cope. I am able to better recognise and understand why I feel the way I feel and try to overcome it.
She really helped me a lot and I just want to say that if you're reluctant or nervous like I was then try to push past it and go for it because it's really worthwhile. They are fantastic and make you feel so at ease and after your first one you won't be nervous anymore
