Mike and Alex welcome you to the Seaview Guest House Bed and Breakfast. We run the Guest House personally to ensure we can provide you with the best possible attention during your stay in Southport. We had a lovely stay with Mike & Alexat The Seaview Hotel. They made us feel very welcome once again.
Mike's breakfasts are legendary! I especially love the scrambled eggs with smoked Salmon on an oven bottomed muffin! My partner had the full English & he said it was very good, well cooked & presented, but they could maybe use a better quality sausage. The room was very nice, cosy & comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is provided for you.

Southport have a very active entertainment events throughout the year at the Floral Hall, The Little Theatre and the The Atkinson. Within the Atkinson on the third floor there is an extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts and is well worth a visit along with other art exhibitions. There are also regular events in the Atkinson's two small theatre venues from comedy to folk music.
Historically part of Lancashire, the town was founded in 1792 when William Sutton, an innkeeper from Churchtown, built a bathing house at what is now the south end of Lord Street. At that time, the area, known as South Hawes, was sparsely populated and dominated by sand dunes. At the turn of the 19th century, the area became popular with tourists due to the easy access from the nearby Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
