If you're an existing patient, don't worry as all prescription records are kept on file so there is no need for you to be sure of your prescription. If you're a new patient however, we will have to undergo an eye exam to determine your prescription, unless you have an in-date, valid prescription from a qualified practitioner.

In short, the definition of Hypermetropia (long sightedness) is where the eye is shorter than normal or the cornea is too flat, meaning that light rays focus behind the retina. Light rays from close objects such as pages of a book cannot be focused on clearly by the retina. Someone with hypermetropic eyes may find their vision is blurred when looking at objects near to them, and for vision to be clearer when looking at far away objects.

Lovely staff. Very welcoming. Always had my eyes tested here and will continue to do so. My children always feel relaxed here when getting their eyes tested. Always accomodating with young children. Opticians are always very thorough and explain everything as they go along. The staff in general are amazing and always helpful. A* rating!

Great little independent opticians. Lovely staff who care about their customers and are always welcoming. I have my diabetic screening done here and the opticians explains every stage of the test. They have lots of lovely glasses to choose from and the stop is always bright and inviting. This opticians will always be my first choice. A*
