Situated in a convenient location in the heart of south west Scotland, Hoddom Castle Caravan and Camping Park can be found in partially wooded parkland in the grounds of a 16th Century Border Keep forming part of the 10,000 acre Hoddom and Kinmount Estates. To the north and east is the River Annan and Hoddom Castle Golf Course - providing just some of the many activities available.
The site has been landscaped so that caravans and tents blend with the peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Services
The initial idea was to try and make camping a little more luxurious and warmer especially when our local climate lets us down. Inside each pod there is either a large double bed and 2 singles, or just a large double bed. Each pod has lighting and an electric socket for charging accessories and small heaters.
The first Kelo Lodge was introduced at Hoddom Castle in 2012. This has been specifically built for Hoddom. The main building is a traditional Finnish Kota, finished inside with a handmade bed from Lapland. The bed is made from very special wood from the Kelo tree. These trees are from the edge of the arctic circle where they grow for up to 200 years before they die.
Just 10 minutes drive from Hoddom Castle Caravan Park, we also have available a self catering property that sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms. Holiday in sumptuous Palladian luxury at Gardens Cottage with superb family holiday accommodation in a spacious and charming single storey cottage with wheelchair access.
All prices are inclusive of VAT and a deposit is payable when you book (and full payment on bank holiday weekends) before your booking can be confirmed. Caravans and motorhomes - hardstanding with electric - Maximum length 8m (26ft) - Only 1 car per pitch allowed. Tents for 2 persons - pitch size 9m x 9m (30ft x 30ft) - max 8 person tent - Only 1 car per pitch allowed.

Went for the Christmas Fayre. The entry was £5, and we paid in advance, and in retrospect I think this was a bit of a rip off just to view stalls and get a hot chocolate/mulled wine. Stalls were generally good but eclectic and pricey. It was also difficult to park with car park full. However, Hoddom Castle caravan park in general is a great place to camp (I've camped there before). If I was reviewing the camping it would have more stars!

Sadly I have to agree with Jason. I've had 10 fantastic years on a seasonal pitch at Hoddom, we've used it as a retreat from the stresses of life and were always happy driving through the gates. My children have grown up there with the safety of the site and friendliness of the clients. There was such a close knit community that generally looked after itself, many older people who likely needed it far more than we did. Unfortunately we have noticed a steady decline over the last few years, when John and Lorraine, and Alan and Lesley ran the ship it couldn't be faulted. We've been told we would

Clean and tidy site but kept awake by live music in the bar. Not sure if this is just a Saturday night thing but stupidly loud. Long way to the loo in a very dark courtyard at night. Quite scary. Service in the bar was the worst I've ever had but not sure if they're directly linked to the site. Decent amount of toilets and showers.

This is a huge Campsite.
Check in was a simple fast process.
Good flat pitches for tents, with lots of space.
The site is very well laid out and in immaculate condition.
There are some good walks, and also a river nearby for fishing.
The facilities are of a good standard.
Laundry £4 total for wash+dry.
There's an on-site shop that sells a few bits, like snacks for kids and some other basic items.
The on-site pub/restaurant was fine, if a little expensive.
Overall great!

Beautiful, peaceful site. Nicely laid out. Had an electric tent pitch, following a couple of days of rain. The ground was still firm, no mud at all. Toilet and shower facilities very clean. Small shop with the basics. On site pub and restaurant with lovely Court yard. Staff very helpful even though it was a very busy weekend. Beautiful surroundings, nice little walks along the river and upto Repentance Tower which has great views. Children's play park, crazy golf.9 hole golf course on site. I didn't use this but had a walk around and it is very well kept. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting

This place is absolutely excellent. Just a one night stay for us with a tent pitch. Peaceful & spacious. Quiet & relaxing. Very clean and tidy all round. Great walks nearby, woody pathways down to the river (great for a cheeky swim) Campers all seem very friendly, respectful and smiley. Staff all superb and born naturals at customer service. Table service at the bar was very efficient even though short staffed. Thank you to Katie for the service… 5 stars to you & the rest of the team. Will definitely be back.

The camp site is in the stunning grounds of a 16th century Scottish castle and is a quiet, low key place in a great location just over the boarder into Scotland.
It has won some very good awards over the years but it is my favourite site as it has not slipped down the money making, big commercial route so many have.
The prices charged are very reasonable to camp and the pub prices are also good. The restaurant cooks homemade food and again the prices are great.
They have their own golf course (if you are into that type of thing) but in general is a great place to base yourself.
