Lighthouse Leisure
Lighthouse Leisure is a 4* holiday park that offers fantastic facilities for the whole family, with the added bonus of having the beautiful Solway Coast on your doorstep. We are a family run park with both 8 & 12 month pitches. We are a child friendly park and have an outdoor play area. The park is well maintained with tarred roads.

The park is only a 2 minute walk from the beach and historic lighthouse which is open to the public occasionally. Touring area is suitable for tents/tourers/motorhomes with an adjacent modernised toilet/shower facility. Leisure Centre with swimming pool, coffee shop, entertainments room with bar plus separate bar for adults only.
Services
Set in well-maintained lawns with tarred roads, the park is less than 2 minute walk from the beach and lighthouse, immediately adjacent is a fully stocked shop and a regular bus service from the village to Dumfries and intermediate villages. On site we have an adventure playground and leisure complex offering plenty of fun and relaxation for all the family.
Enjoy the facilities of our new modern leisure centre comprising a heated family pool (9 x 4.5 metres with a consistent safe depth of 1.1 metres for children), a coffee shop, entertainment lounge bar and a separate "adults only" bar serving a select range of cocktails and fine wines all competitively priced, as well as a good choice of spirits and beers.
An ideal opportunity to enjoy the freedom of self-catering and just relax in the comfort and luxury of our holiday caravans. We offer 2 bedroom Comfort, 2/3 bedroom pet friendly caravans, or why not treat yourself and upgrade to one of our Comfort Plus grade vans with double glazing and central heating?
TRAIN: There is a frequent train service to Dumfries from Glasgow. Coming from the south one would usually need to change train in Carlisle with a pleasant 40-minute onward journey to Dumfries. For timetable information visit either TheTrainLine or Scotrail. From Dumfries follow the A710 Solway Coast Road for about 15 miles, turn left at the turn off to Southerness.

Lovely caravan site. Lovely caravan everything you could need was in there. The living area was very spacious, the bedrooms were big enough, the bathroom was adequate with a nice shower.

Nice place to stay and stuff for the kids like arcades, electric bikes on a track a park, swimming pool and a beach to go exploring, not to mention endless walks that can be done daily. Friendly staff always ready to help out and its about 30mins from Dumfries town centre, it is a nice place and you carn't beat waking up by the sea every morning (apart from the gulls waking you up too early) 🤣😂🤣😂

Ideal if you like live music all night all around the local area. stayed in another campsite and the music didn't stop until gone 1am not family friendly and laughed at us saying it's irrelevant that all my kids are awake after 1 coz we are not their customers so they don't care. Very funny smell around the site. Avoid if your a family.

Absolutely stunning bit off the solway coast
20mins outside Dumfries,
Some stunning restaurant's, Paul Jones, is a must food was 1st class, staff were very helpful,
Prices, not the cheapest if I'm being honest, but a lovely meal,
Place was very busy, both caravan sites looked extremely busy, looked like everyone was making most of the opportunity just after lockdown...👍

Appalling caravan, I wouldn't even call it a caravan more like a tin can, worst beds I have ever lay on in my life, we had no water for 1 day and kept up all night with water running down toilet. Everyone stared in as they walked past as curtains didnt fit the windows. Definitely not dog friendly as there was no veranda area and the heat was unbearable as it was 23 degrees and we couldnt open the door as dogs would have got out! Not even a baby gate supplied?
We purchased through sun holidays but never again!

Booked a last minute week long break, great communication throughout and a great price, (Not putting prices up at these difficult times).
Check in was very quick and easy, got to our caravan and was highly delighted with the cleanliness of the van itself.
Great week as most of the venues were now open at Southerness, we felt very safe as the safety measures are all put well in place.
We will definitely consider going back as we had a great relaxing week.
Thank you to all of your staff for helping to make our week special, as they were all very friendly and nothing seemed a bother to them.

We had a great wee stay from Monday to Friday, everyone at the park were really friendly and the South African lad at the Mermaid Bar was a great laugh and so good with all ages, chip shop was really good as was a Paul Jones Bar all good prices. **My only warning is the beach when the tide is out the quick sand is dangerous and you sink really quick with no signs to state this* not the caravan parks issue though. Plenty to do locally too, Would definitely go back.
