Having been in and tired on a few different occasions, and while the coffee and food (when they have the kitchen open) is ok. Nothing special and overpriced. It is massively let down time and time again by the staff and awful customer service. Very rude. I dread to think about the management.
Not very comfortable inside or out with a air of the need to rush, judgement and smugness from behind the counter. Probably will not be back, which is a shame as it has potential. Better options in the nearby area / Old York Road which I would recommend more. It also has a 1 star food hygiene!

Been in a couple of times and just a bit disappointed by how it's run. On a cold Saturday at about 3 pm and it was heaving, we (three adults, no kids etc) checked through the window before we went in and there were lots of tables available, went in and ordered then told that we couldn't sit in the area with all the free seats! Had to squeeze onto a tiny table and move once another table became clear. There were another 4 or 5 people at the counter too, I'm assuming they had to leave.
Reading other reviews, other comments about being asked to sit in specific places with strollers (which wasn't

Poor customer service. Not baby friendly at all.
While we were ordering coffee we been ask to put our stroller with the baby right next to the door and sit on the different table.
The batista was a reasonable guy. As I said when there is enough space we will move. Although there was two empty tables but not next to the door.
I got also a muffin which was old and hard like a stone, when we mentioned the lady there was no reaction, she just removed it, didn't even apologise.

I learned about this place a couple of years ago and I was dying to try it as I moved to London.
It did not disappoint.
Coffee is top notch always, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Small bites and bakes are great too.
The overall vibe of this place is just amazing.
Definitely on your must try (and come back to) in London list!

Excellent food, coffee, and service! I'm sad to see the Story Works location go, but am glad that there is a lovely new brunch location! My only gripe is that the food is a bit pricy given the portion size. Coffee is fairly priced considering the high quality of the drinks themselves and the skills of the owner and baristas.

I visited Story Coffee this morning, looking forward to a delicious brunch with a friend. We both walked in and waited to get served, stood there for 5 minutes and got told to move out the way twice from one of the staff members, as were still not serverd even when waiting by the counter. The staff continued to flat out ignore us and we had no… assistance. We fully understood that it was a busy time and they were booked out. But the customer service and lack of communication was awful to say the least and were just rude. We ended up going to another cafe a few blocks down which was just

Delicious quinoa pancakes last Saturday!! This was actually my second brunch (yes I'm a fatty fat) as I had just eaten at Ben's up the road and was still hungry after my kale and sweetcorn patties brunch. These pancakes, a silver dollar stack, hit the spot! There is a good amount of ricotta, cinnamon apples and coconut but yet the dish is not too sweet. Service was ok- not the friendliest but also not terrible or mean. It was nice to sit in the sun in the chairs outdoors. Free WiFi.

After paying and wanting to enjoy few relaxing moments calmly on a small bench, they asked me not to use a laptop even with no wifi! The rules they showed says clearly that I can sit where i was but without wi-fi. I Asked for a refund and waited for 20 min as they didn't have the password and the manager shows up with an appallingly poor customer… service attitude and claimed the transaction was already refunded with no proof showing my card number. He also couldn't see the bank details on system which could mean it was a cash refund which wasn't the case. I Called my bank in front of him

This used to be my favourite cafe until I was told the "No laptop policy" was because it is a "busy, social cafe" - I was there by myself and felt unwelcome because I didn't have friends with me to be "social" in the "social cafe".. I had already been sitting there for an hour writing with a pen and notebook, I don't see a difference in that or the… 15 other people in there on their phones.. or if I had a book and was sat there for hours like I have previously. Left a hand written note explaining what I was using my laptop for with my email address and no one has emailed me about it.. Such

Five stars on the spot for this little gem in a corner of St John's Hill. The place is stylish and makes available some very nice cycling magazines. But these are only accessory comments because the real hit is in the coffee: this is one of the only two places in the whole London where I enjoyed a smooth, tasty and pleasant coffee.
My cappuccino and I immediately understood each other and the everlasting time it took me to finish it, filled me with joy that I spilled out on the lines of a ciclocross article, making the whole experience immemorable.
The Story between us will go on.

Stopped in on my way into Clapham for a soy latte. Service was good, everyone working there seemed friendly. The coffee cup wasn't huge, but it was deceivingly full. The coffee was really good lots of flavour elements came through. And huge shout out to the baristas for not burning the soy milk! So many baristas just fry the hell out of the soy milk, these guys gently nurtured it into a relish sweet foamy goodness. The decor was clean and minimal and the atmosphere was nice: Will be back.

The filter coffee was very good I thought. Not a lot of space, felt a bit crowded when I was waiting around to pay but there are worse things in this world! Also music was perhaps a touch to loud for a cafe, and it's small size and large number of people perhaps made it slightly harder to hear and talk then I'd like, but not to bad again!

This place is a cute cafe on the corner, on a quieter stretch up the road from busy Clapham Junction. Service is really friendly and the decor is minimal but thoughtful. We had two drinks, which were fairly priced and tasty. The filter coffee was served with the bag of coffee on the table, which was a neat touch to showcase the beans.
Minus a few stars because: both our drinks weren't served hot enough, but only warm; as well, the filter coffee was on the smaller side. Last, they were playing cool music but kept switching songs midway through and changing genres, which was a bit distracting
