We are a forward thinking business that is based on the tried and tested values of a traditional Local Independent Bike Shop. We are proud of our achievements so far including the completion of our 2000sq feet upstairs showroom. Here at The South Wales Bicycle Company we believe in offering a "Traditional" and "Personal" Local Bike Shop experience to all of our customers. Our Friendly staff are always available to chat and offer advice on all aspects of cycling from Bike selection to getting the right Clothing and Accessories for your needs.
As well as performing a full mechanical service of your E-Bike we are fully trained and able to perform a digital service of your BOSCH or SHIMANO system. We are able to perform a full system check, and where necessary update firmware on the Motor, Battery and Head Unit. This ensures you always get the best out of your BOSCH powered E-Bike.
MERIDA's company founder Ike Tseng (1932-2012) was a very honour-able person and a real visionary. During a trip through the USA at the beginning of the 1970s, he discovered a note at the door of a bike shop stating that not any bikes from Taiwan were accepted for repair due to bad quality.
The man whose life motto was "move with passion and courage" chose the name "Merida" intentionally: The rough translation of the three syllables "Me-Ri-Da" means that the company's intention is to manufacture only beautiful and high-quality products enabling anyone to reach her or his destination as pleasantly as possible.

We are very proud here at The South Wales Bicycle Company to be the second largest UK dealer of the fantastic LOOK bicycle range. Simply one of the best bike shops I've ever been in. The two gents spent almost an hour finding me a very specific nut to allow me to go for a ride that night whilst I was in the area. The ride was fantastic in great weather and without the South Wales Bicycle Co I would've missed it! Thanks so much. Some fantastic bikes hung up in the shop if you've got the time to look and appreciate the history. Would give 6 out of 5 if I could!

I myself found the South Wales Bicycle Company on a website calling this store the best one in Newport and/or South Wales so I definitely had to check it out.
Upon arriving the (presumably) store owner greeted us in a very friendly manner, when I introduced myself and told him what I was looking for he took my upstairs (mountain bikes), gave my some useful pointers and what he thought was important for me to have or keep in mind and about 25 minutes

I could no recommend this bike shop enough. Cycling through Wales on a trip, they helped me out during an emergency. Already fully stacked and booked they saw that this was an emergency and took great care of me.They realised another problem with my bike (brakes and fixed it there and then).
The most welcoming and friendly team I have ever seen in a bike shop, I really wish they were my local. Thanks guys!!
