We can help you create a funeral service that not only reflects your loved one in a completely respectful way but also works well for you as a family. There's been an increased demand for Green Burials in recent years and we're pleased to say that we're able to offer a full service in line with these expectations.

Funeral plans offer peace of mind for you and your family and are a perfect way of protecting yourself from the ever increasing costs of funerals. Dealing with the death of a loved one can be one of the most difficult things to do in life. At Ugalde & Son we understand this situation better than anyone.
Services
Ugalde & Son is a family owned independent firm of Funeral Directors in South East Cornwall that was established in 1887. Bryan and Clyve Ugalde are currently the fifth generation of the business serving the local community and surrounding areas 24 hours a day. Being the longest established independent family Funeral Directors in Cornwall we're able to provide a service that cannot be matched by larger corporate firms out there.
When someone dies, it's our job to step in and take care of all the arrangements. This whole process starts with us sitting with you as a family and discussing what you want. We listen and provide comfort, we care, support and enable you to say farewell in your own way giving you peace of mind that you could not have done better.
When it comes to funeral plans can we suggest that you talk to people that actually know about funerals. People that live locally in your community and people that have been established in business as funeral directors since 1887. Can we suggest that you talk to us at Ugalde & Son. Funeral plans offer peace of mind for you and your family and are a good way of helping to protect against ever increasing costs of funerals.
At this time it is difficult to think practically but there are certain procedures that need to be carried out by the next of kin or executor. Below is a guide to the steps that you need to follow. If your loved one passes away in their home and has been seen by a doctor within fourteen days, call the surgery and ask for a doctor to visit and confirm the death.
Unfortunately there is administration that needs to take place and certain authorities need to be informed of the death. All this comes at a time when you may least feel like attending to these matters as they stir up memories, often it can all be too much to bare. Below we have listed some of the government organisations that need to be informed.

We were advised by a nursing home to go with Ugalde funeral directors, what a great family run business. From the start to the end nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was very caring and efficient. At this stressful time, Ugaldes were very Professional at all times making the pain of losing a loved one more bearable, Most importantly planning step by step the funeral arrangements so everything ran so smoothly from collecting us from the house to entering the crematorium, listening to Penny reading the Eulogy and really caring about the service to the driving to the wake. Well done and thank

I can not recommend Bryan and Clyde of Ugalde highly enough . They have recently organised the funeral of my father, during the difficult lock down restrictions, but with their help and support we were still able to have a "semi" normal funeral for Dad.
Their approach is highly professional, kind, gentle and faultless.
A family run company which I could not recommend highly enough.
Thank you Bryan

At certain times of life we need help, the passing of a loved one is certainly one of those moments. If you sat down and wrote the profile of the characteristics of the perfect Funeral Directors to help you through this you would ask for:
• A caring and empathetic approach right from the first call through to the invoice.
• Every single element discharged with utter professionalism.
• A willingness to innovate and create an environment which supports a caring and reflective crafting of the memorial for your loved one.
Needless to say these words describe Ugalde and Son perfectly. Our

When my Aunt died we came to Ugalde & Son, they started off by immediately taking over all of the arrangements so that we had time to mourn, i don't know what we would of done without them, they were very supportive and sympathetic the whole way through the process.
