Wills Jacobsen Legal
We have significant experience in dealing with the range of issues that can arise in the areas of Wills, Probate & Trust Law. It is true that with experience there often comes an increase in legal fees. However, we understand that the issue of fees can be overwhelming and worrying when you need to instruct a solicitor.

That is why we keep a keen eye on costs. After all, we don't want to pay more than we have to for anything, and we don't think you should either. We understand that when someone has died or there are capacity problems with a relative, you don't want to worry about money any more than absolutely necessary.
Services
Despite this being an age of complicated financial affairs and intricate family relationships, more than two-thirds of people in the UK don't have a will. Last year the Government gained 76m from people who died intestate and generally this figure rises each year. Many people find thinking about making a Will a daunting task, but it doesn't need to be with us.
There are several types of Power of Attorney but the most commonly used at the present time are Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA's). An LPA gives another individual, such as a family member, (the Attorney) the legal authority to look after specific aspects of your financial affairs or health and welfare should you lose the capacity to do so.
Dealing with the death of someone you love is distressing and difficult. The last thing you may feel like doing is sorting out the paperwork and dealing with the estate administration alone. After a death, it can be difficult to know what steps to complete and in which order you should complete them.
We recognise that not all the estates of someone who has died need a full administration service provided by solicitors. However, where a person dies leaving assets of more than 15,000 it is generally necessary to obtain something called a Grant of Representation. This is a term that covers a Grant of Probate where someone has left a Will, and a Grant of Letters of Administration where someone has died without leaving a Will.
We offer different types of Probate and Estate Administration services, so that our clients can decide which option best suits them. A 'grant of probate only' service, for estates that are not liable to Inheritance tax, where we will file the Inheritance tax account and obtain the grant of probate for our clients, on the basis that they then deal with the administration of the estate themselves.
