My name is Neil Gardner I have over25 years experience within the Antiques Industry, before starting my own restoration and cabinet making business in 2008, I worked at one of the largest antique dealers for over 20 years. I am a time served craftsman having learnt my trade over time on a wide range of antique furniture.
I have wide experience in all aspects of restoration and French polishing. I have built up a good client base of private individuals and collectors, antique dealers and Churches. The services I offer range from repairing a broken chair, removing heat marks and scratches to a full and complete restoration of your furniture.

Services
As the name suggests this method of polishing was first introduced in France, I offer the traditional method of French polishing, applying the polish by hand with a "fad" a folded piece of wadding wrapped up in high quality lint free cloth. The benefits of French polishing are a deep lustrous finish giving a pleasing mirror finish and has the advantage of being easily corrected if later marked by heat, water or sun damage.
Restoration can range from mending a broken chair leg, removing heat marks or stains from liquid air freshners to fully restoring furniture to its original condition. I can replace missing parts of furniture such as feet, handles, beading, moulding & inlay. I also complete veneer repairs. If you are looking for the perfect piece of furniture to complement your existing furniture, or require a one-off piece, I offer a cabinet making service.
