Services
Our practice facilities are exceptional and are aimed at golfers looking to improve all aspects of their game. There is a full-length driving range, with tee positions under cover on mats and in the open on grass. Bunker, pitching, chipping and putting greens mirror the fine surface found on the course and give the opportunity to refine those round-saving strokes.
Our comfortable, friendly clubhouse has well-appointed locker rooms and a large, recently refurbished lounge and dining area where folding glass doors give access to a terrace overlooking the 18th green and provide stunning views over Somerset with the Mendip and Quantock hills in the background.
In the lounge there is a flexible seating to accommodate from two to twelve people that give individuals and small groups a comfortable meeting place before or after their round. The dining area may be set up as small tables of four or arranged to allow larger teams, groups or societies to eat together after matches and other events.

Inclement weather could include, but not be limited to fog or thunder and lighting. In the case of thunder and lightening, if thunder is heard and lightning strikes are visible then the course will be closed. Golfers will hear a single loud blast from the klaxon from the 1st tee, 5th tee, 12th tee & 14th tee.
Here at Sherborne Golf Club, we are very fortunate to have strong relationships with many individuals and companies. Their support, sponsorship and friendship is greatly appreciated and we take pleasure in highlighting them below. Bill Butters Windows is an established and reputable, family-run business based in Sherborne, Dorset.
We have a beautiful, mature 18-hole parkland course with specimen trees and stunning views over Somerset and the Blackmore Vale. At just over 6,400 yards from the white tees and set out over undulating terrain, our course will test all departments of your game without the need of big hitting from the tees.

Fine parkland course attributed to James Braid which and whose influence was more apparent from 12th hole onwards. Small greens protected by several bunkers. (The bunkers were full of a very coarse sand and stones which was not attractive). The par 3’s presented a particular challenge but many of the par 4’s were short and required only a short iron to reach the green. Many changes in elevation meant a good walk and I visited on a lovely autumn afternoon playing in shirt sleeves. A good members course.
