Please browse for information about our services and links to other health-related information and resources. We provide primary care services to residents in the following areas; Borrowash, Chaddesden, Oakwood and the University of Derby. We do not advise the use of eConsult or e-mail for urgent clinical matters as these are not monitored 24 hours a day.
There are limits to the number of eConsults we can safely manage in a day, so you may find that the eConsult service is reduced when capacity has been reached. Please note that eConsult response times may take up to 2 or 3 working days, although in most cases we will try and respond within 1 working day.

Services
Face to face consultations will be offered if a telephone or video consultation is not possible or appropriate to meet your health needs or query. Try to limit the amount of time you spend in the surgery by not arriving more than 5 minutes before you appointment. Clinicians may be wearing scrubs, PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) such as Visor, Mask, Gloves and Apron.
We no longer issue 'green' prescriptions, they are either sent electronically directly to your nominated pharmacy or you will be given a paper 'token' to take to a pharmacy. You will still order your repeat prescriptions in the same way as you do now, but your prescriptions will be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.
Call 999 If you are in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for the police - the police will continue to respond to emergency calls. If you are in danger and unable to talk on the phone, dial 999, listen to the questions from the operator and respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can. Then follow the instructions depending on whether you are calling from a mobile or a landline.

Have been trying for 3 weeks to speak to someone! Either told phone later, constant music or nothing at all. When I did speak to someone she was OK but said the Doctor I wanted wasn't in, fair enough, but I asked if she could leave him message and was told no, why not? Was also told after trying all morning that all appointments were taken, how when you can't get through?

I would give them 0 stars if possible! They send lots of texts out to make appointments for my sons medical review but it is impossible to contact them to actually book one!! Can't get through on the phone lines, reception aren't interested if you go in. Absolutely discusting when my child NEEDS his inhalers. We will definitely be going elsewhere!!!!

It's come to that time of year where I need to have a mental health review
But ontop if this and other issues I need to talk to my GP about. It all falls apart when you try to phone for an appointment.
I phone as soon as the lines open, and after 60 seconds the lines are already full, and I'm kicked off the line and told to call later by an auto mated voice
By the time you can get through. All the lines appointments are gone, and you have to repeate the whole song and dance again.
I tried E consult, which seems to be the replacement for the online booking system, which now never has appointments

Ring them for an appointment at 8 o'clock and it will get disconnected saying we are very busy call in 30min, when you call them after 30min if you lucky than will get on que, after 35-40min wait call connects and than disconnects straight away. Call again and than you are in que again.... absolute nightmare system. No one wants to listen anything. Good for this kind of practice who always find excuse not to provide proper service. Oh this is all Covid's fault by the way.

Constant issues when trying to book appointments, especially for medication reviews. End up being referred to 111 9/10, who are already overcapacity with more urgent issues. Unable to book telephone appointments for specific times which is completely inconvenient for people who work full time and are unable to have their phone with them whilst working, so can't plan breaks around expected calls. Will be changing GP at the earliest opportunity.

Getting through to actually organise anything or an appointment (!) has become abysmal during the last 18 months. Often cut off after waiting for the lengthy and pointless preamble on the phone with no ability to leave a message. This is practice specific. My husband who is registered elsewhere has none of these problems. I would recommend avoiding !
