Uphall Golf Club
Uphall Golf Club is West Lothian's most progressive golf club with massive investment in drainage to USGA specification keeping us open when others have the course closed signs up. We are a friendly members' club where we enjoy a mix of social and competitive golf and new members and visitors are welcome.

Our par 69 parkland course is fair but challenging, with the aim being to provide an enjoyable all-round golfing experience. The Club has a strong focus on the development of our Junior players. There are more than 100 young players, ranging from age 9 organised / supervised by a dedicated Junior Convenor, supported by a number of other members.
Services
Uphall Golf Club has a long history. It was founded in 1895 with the course being built on land called the "Burn Parks" leased from the local Houston Estate at the yearly rent of 30. Who designed the course cannot be established but it appears that it was done before the formation of the actual club.
Our course has traditionally played to a Standard Scratch Score (SSS) of 67 against a par of 69, which was seen as an extremely stern test, but despite requests to the SGU, we were unable to convince them to evaluate the SSS upwards.

That was until 2011, when the combination of the toughened up 11th, new bunkering and finally, the extension of the 3rd to 175 yards from the back of the medal tee, persuaded the SGU to increase the SSS to 68, which we feel is a fairer reflection.Uphall Golf Club now has its very own 18-30 Club! Great reduced cost Membership offers are available in lots of categories, including annual fee of only 374 for 25-29 year olds.
Uphall Golf Club have vacancies for new members in all types of membership with no joining fee this year with other benefits. We were made very welcome at Uphall when we played in the mixed open greensome. The course is well maintained and the greens stood up to the heavy rain very well. You have to keep your wits about you at all times as many fairways cross or are shared. Also three of the tees are exposed to errant shots from other holes. Nice clubhouse with a large bar and the meals served in the dining room were generous and good value.

Nice place and the club house is clean and full of nice people. Only issue is you have to cross a main road to finish a round of golf. Never mind it makes it more exciting. Free parking and not too busy.
