The benefits of hydrotherapy depend very much on how the hydrotherapy treatment is carried out. Here at Westmac we work alongside a qualified ACPAT Physiotherapist to ensure your pet has the best possible treatment plan for its individual needs. This is especially important after surgery or injury as this can allow an earlier return to a more normal way of life for your pet.
Water can also be used as a means of supporting dogs in a non weight bearing or partially weight bearing environment to allow movements that would not be possible on land, perhaps because of weakness or injury. All courses are CPD accredited and many have the additional option of an endorsed certificate from TQUK.

Services
Your insurance company will be able to tell you if Hydrotherapy is included as part of your policy. Owners will be expected to pay on the day for any treatment received and then claim these sessions back from their insurance afterwards. We are happy to assist in the completion of insurance claim forms.
All of our clients here at Westmac will begin with an initial assessment appointment. This is so that we can take time to get to know you and your pet before any treatment commences. The initial assessment will be 1 hour long which allows us to move at a speed that provides most reassurance for your best friend.
As part of our aim to improve and promote overall health and well-being in our canine companions we now stock a range of natural or single protein treats. Dehydrated treats provide additional health benefits when fed alongside a balanced diet. Move away from unhealthy, commercial treats and swap your dogs onto a healthier alternative today!
All courses are CPD accredited and a time stamped CPD statement can be provided if required. This course is ideal for pet owners or pet professionals. It covers the main first aid subjects for Dogs and Cats but this information is also suitable for most other animals. Understanding basic first aid for your pet will give you the skills to assist them and prevent them from getting worse before professional help is given by your vet.
The following products are those we have available to sell either directly from ourselves (postage is not included) or when attending any of our courses. Please get in touch on 01600 860001 or contact@westmac.co.uk to order your Pet First Aid Kit today, or request more information on any of the available products.

The hydrotherapy unit at Westmac is absolutely superb, staffed by experienced professionals totally dedicated to the well-being of their canine patients.
My lurcher suffered a catastrophic fracture of his left hock (ankle) while chasing rabbits. Following a 5-hour operation and a great deal of rest, his recovery was further complicated by the fact that he had, several years earlier, seriously damaged his right hip.
Referred by our local vet, we arrived at Westmac uncertain whether this procedure could be of any lasting benefit. Attempts to get his strength back through exercise alone were proving

Evie and her team at Westmac have provided a high level of expertise to my two (slightly ageing) Border Collies - one with a cruciate issue, the other with a stiff back. Evie designed a programme specific to each dog, and from the initial assessment through to the maintenance programme they are now on, it is encouraging to see how their fitness levels have improved. One of my dogs is just happy she can chase squirrels without being in pain!
The premises are brand new, and the state of the art rehabilitation equipment, together with Evie's knowledge and ability, makes this the perfect place for
