The Beacon Country House Hotel
Family run, the Beacon Country House Hotel is ideal for both a memorable holiday in the picturesque Cornwall countryside and is also the perfect quiet escape for business travellers in the region. Thanks to its magnificent countryside and coastal views, the Beacon is a Country House Hotel with the emphasis very much on peace and quiet and natural beauty.

My family and I had a lovely, relaxing visit. Andrew, Jayne and Nigel (and the other staff members) were very friendly and extremely helpful. Excellent host and hostess. Food breakfast and dinner superb. Lovely views plenty of walks, beaches etc. Good base for visiting surrounding attractions.
Services
The Beacon Hotel is a family run hotel which has been operating in St Agnes since the 1940s (previously known as the Sunholme Hotel) and is a well known landmark in the local area. Thanks to its magnificent countryside and coastal views, the Beacon is a Country House Hotel with the emphasis very much on peace and quiet and natural beauty.
The Beacon Hotel has eleven smart and comfortable ensuite bedrooms which enjoy views of either the spectacular Cornish coastline, countryside panorama, or our delightful gardens. All rooms are bright, modern and well equipped with flat screen digital TV, high speed internet access, tea coffee making facilities, toiletries, and hair dryer.
Relaxed dining in a beautiful setting, take in the glorious views from our newly decorated, informal restaurant, whilst James our Chef prepares dinner to order from our daily changing menu. Afterwards unwind in our comfortable lounge, enjoy a drink from the bar or during the lighter evenings, take a stroll up to the top of St Agnes Beacon to watch the sunset from this 360 degree vantage view point.
The Beacon Hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the wonderful Cornish coastline together with its many local sights, walks, attractions and numerous sandy beaches. It's relatively central position makes it a great base from which to enjoy all Cornwall has to offer either by foot, bike, car, train, bus or boat, you can reach most of what Cornwall has to offer within the hour.
Over the past few months we have been exploring some of these walks and have highlighted and captured our journeys below. We can also highly recommend the IWalk Cornwall App which details hundreds of walks in Cornwall and it has the facility to direct you as you go. We have used this app and it is great.

Lovely time! Lovely friendly staff. Excellent food.
Hard to plan in these strange pandemic times, but we were wondering about return for New Year. And we almost never go back to places!

We didn’t stay the night because we went for dinner. However, we had a lovely meal , cooked just to our liking and the views from the dining room are fabulous. It was the staff’s attitude to us that made our visit so memorable. They were so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to return and take an autumn break with them.

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend in August. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful in every way. The location is great and a brilliant base to explore the beautiful coastline just a short walk away. We hope to return soon.

Had a lovely time. Nothing is too much trouble for the team to make your stay enjoyable. They’re all so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is lovely. Rooms were spotless. Only a short walk to St Agnes (no pathways as such so just take care and not advisable to walk at night). Stunning views from the hotel. You’ll have a lovely time when you stay here.

What a stunning hotel in a beautiful location!
The owners and staff were so welcoming and made us feel at home. I stayed for 2 nights with my partner and baby boy. They were so accommodating and nothing was too much hassle. It was spotless, the room was lush and the food was beautiful 😍 they even catered for my partner who is gluten intolerant and dairy free. He had a variety of things to eat. (we struggle going out for food usually). We thoroughly enjoyed and we can’t wait to return 😁 thank you again!

I booked the ground floor room for my 82 year old Dad who has limited mobility. The bedroom was really spacious with a separate seating area and tastefully decorated, the ensuite was lovely and accessible. The staff were all very helpful and friendly so even though my Dad was staying alone he felt really welcome and at home. He loved the breakfast choices and cornish tea. We came to the hotel for dinner on two evenings and were very impressed by the high quality and beautiful presentation of the food, really stunning. My Dad hadn't been away for several years and this was just the tonic he needed
