Services
Travel through Littleworth on the Littleworth Road, at the T-junction with the road from Hazelslade, turn right and follow the road. At the edge of Prospect Village before entering the national speed limit zone, take the turning on your left, Ironstone Road. As you follow this road you will see The Rag on your right hand side, opposite New Hayes Road.
In late 2006 Benny (Michael Benniston) laid a new green on waste land at the back of The Rag. This has been lovingly nurtured during 2007 and 2008 into a first class, large and very tricky Crown Green. The Rag Bowling Club was formed. The green, though fairly new is in super condition and is in a superb location with lovely rural views across open countryside and the edge of the Chase.
The restaurant itself seats 80 people, and diners can enjoy views of the surrounding countryside as they enjoy our home cooked cuisine. We also have a separate room, seating approximately 24 people, which can be used for private parties, meetings and seminars. All of our dishes are made using the freshest ingredients, with locally sourced produce wherever possible.
We take our food very seriously here at The Rag Country Inn, with an emphasis on using the freshest ingredients, locally sourced as far as possible, to provide you with a varied, seasonal menu at an affordable price. Our extensive menu covers everything from a bowl of soup to steaks, pub classics and dishes from around the world.
Drawing on the local mining heritage of the area, the rooms are all named after local Pits. They are Fairlady, Hollybank, The Fly, Leacroft, Plant, Grove and Valley. We want you to feel at home and to relax during your stay with us. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary biscuits, fresh fruit and toiletries.

Chose to come here for my birthday meal after reading the reviews and I have to say I agree, the food is fantastic and by far the best meal out we have had in Cannock! The staff are predominantly young but are a credit to themselves and The Rag, extremely professional, presentable and courteous, will be visiting again!

What an amazing find. Went in there with a colleague on the off chance for some food after work. We both had the fish, chips and curry sauce. It was the best curry sauce I've ever tasted, none of the chip shop curry sauce you normally get. All in all a really nice meal nice staff 5*. And washed it down with a nice pint of Butty Bach.
