Great Glen Lodges offer quality self-catering accommodation in a peaceful and scenic Highlands location. You'll find us nestled in the Great Glen between Fort William and Loch Ness, in the region of Lochaber, the UK's centre for outdoor activities. Each of our five detached timber lodges enjoys a spectacular panoramic view of Loch Lochy and the hills beyond.

Our main gate opens onto the Great Glen Way, giving you a direct route to the two Munros just behind us or the area's many less challenging walks. We take pride in providing a slow and quiet getaway as well as excellent service for our guests, many of whom return time after time. Had a fantastic week at the Great Glen in September.
Services
Our five traditionally built, full-log Scandinavian pine lodges all offer superb southerly views of Loch Lochy and the mountains beyond, creating an ideal place to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. For the adventure-minded, the front gate leads to the huge array of activities available in the outdoor capital of the UK.
Thistle Lodge ideally sleeps 4 adults, but a 5th guest can sleep on a folding bed (the tariff for 5 guests is calculated on the basis of an additional fee of 15.00 per night). 6-berth Bracken & Rowan lodges can be discounted at our discretion to the same tariff as a 4-berth lodge when 4-berth lodges are unavailable.
We've put new beds and high-quality pocket-sprung mattresses in the bedrooms of all the lodges. Several guests have since told us that they've had the best sleep they can remember, . We're pleased to have received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the two years running since we took over (2016 and 2017)!
Many activities are available within easy reach from the site. Brian or Will can advise you on some of the locations and how to book activities. Of course, if you don't fancy what's suggested below, you can just rest and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this unique locale. The Aonach Mor mountain gondola reaches a height of 2150 ft and is the start point for Britains biggest down hill mountain bike track.
Great Glen Lodges are set in a spectacular scenic location at the centre for outdoor activities in the United Kingdom. Nestled between Fort William and Fort Augustus"right on the Great Glen Way"our five timber lodges offer easy access to Highlands excitement or just a quiet spot to slow down and relax.

Brian turned me and my two little girls away for asking for some dry wood to light a tiny fire by the shore.
As an outdoor person taking full responsibility for protecting the great outdoors of this wonderful place, I find it appalling this man lacked the empathy and understanding to make my 2 little girls smile.
Considered staying here last week but was warned by another guest of the entitlement this man carries with him.
Generally never post unless to praise but this is a grumpy old man with zero empathy for small children.
He didnt even offer a glass of water…

Incredible!! The cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in and in these Covid times it feels extremely safe. The lodges are cozy and Will and Brian are the best hosts. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and even gave us a delicious lemon drizzle cake. The kitchen has all the necessary cookware and you can have Tesco deliver (just book delivery slots in advance because it might fill up!). It’s about 10 minutes off the A82 along a country road which means it’s a perfect getaway. I already want to go back!

Warm hosts and genuine care. Micro detailed guidance. The fact that it is a bit away from A82 makes it even more serene and to go for place.
Simply one of the best places we have stayed in.
Thank you Brian for the lemon cake.

11/10, if that could be possible! These lodges have the perfect location with stunning views over the Loch. Brian and Will are perfect hosts; they even dropped a delicious lemon drizzle cake by one evening! Nice touch chaps. The lodges are comfortable and well furnished with lovely decorative features. Photos on the website are honest and will not disappoint. Our kitchen was fully kitted out and you can really self-cater here if you want. The cupboards were not only full of pots, pans and plates/cutlery but there was also salt, pepper, a few herbs, some cooking oil, tea, coffee and lots more. There

Amazing location overlooking Loch Lochy. Very tranquil and out the way spot, yet only a few miles from the A82. The owners of these log cabins were very helpful and friendly. There were only 6 cabins of a ring sizes and all has a fabulous view of the Loch. At dusk we saw pine martins coming right up to our window to snack on food we'd left out. We really want to go back and hopefully will before too long!
Thanks Brian & Will

We stayed five nights and loved the quiet, the amazing view, the proximity to the Loch, and the cozy but very comfortable accommodation (a six-sleeper). Terrific hosts, ever helpful and friendly. Freshly baked cake on arrival! Lots to see and do in the area. We’d love to come back one day. (Got eaten by midges down by the water, the only downside, so maybe pack some repellant.)

Our first experience in self catering cottages, almost in middle of nowhere, and couldn't have chosen a better place. Beautiful, peaceful location, always helpful hosts, perky pine martens, private access to the Loch, and plenty of hikes close by. Loved it!

Off the beaten track yet still not quite the middle of nowhere. Great views and stunning surroundings. Pinemartins in the garden only feet away from the cabin.
The rooms are rustic yet luxurious.
The great glen lodges are a must stay place.
