Your eye examination is not something that should be rushed. We like to allow 40 minutes for an adult eye test and 20 minutes for a child eye test. We carry out a full examination, checking the health of the eyes, the prescription, the muscle balance and more. Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) allows for early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of many conditions.
If you haven't worn contact lenses before - don't worry. Most people are surprised by how comfortable they feel and how easy and convenient they are to use. It is important to do a full eye examination before we fit contact lenses, to check the general health of your eyes and to find your optical prescription.
You may think it is difficult to find the perfect frame but that is why we are here to help you. There are so many frames to choose from but with years of experience we can put together an individualised selection and guide you to make the right choice. Rimless or tortoiseshell, round or square, subtle or statement, petite or extra-large, and everything in between, we have the frame for you.
Most glare comes from horizontal surfaces such as light bouncing off water in a lake or sea or off a wet road. Polarised lenses will filter the horizontal light that bounces off these surfaces thereby reducing the glare. A non-polarised pair of sunglasses will only darken the glare and not reduce the glare.

I’ve just had my routine eye check with Chetan who has State of the Art equipment, and who always explained clearly what it was telling him, which I appreciated and found fascinating, he’s clearly passionate about his subject.

I recently experienced what looked like lightening flashes in my left eye followed by what looked like threads and blobs of green and black material.
I went to my Optician's immediately and they arranged for me to see Chetan Gudka later that day. I was very concerned but the calm and kind professionalism which I received from the receptionist and then Chetan was such that I felt much stressed. He checked my eyes and at each stage told me what he was doing and why. He explained what had happened and the effect it had on the eye. He gave me his card and said should things worsen I was to contact

We had an absolutely fantastic experience here today. My daughter - who is 6 - was quite nervous about visiting the opticians as she has recently had blurry vision and was worried what would happen. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. All the staff were incredibly warm and friendly with her, which made her feel so relaxed and comfortable. The optometrist was very encouraging and completely tailored his manner to suit a young child.
All in all, everyone we encountered made a real effort to be attentive and model great service. We were so pleased with our visit and look forward to

Decided to give this local independent opticians a try as I’d heard great things. I was not disappointed, the eye test was on another level of thorough and professional. I’ve never had that kind of detailed information on my eyes before.
The choice of frames was extensive, I chose a pair made from recycled plastic, they have some beautiful sunglasses too!
If you want a professional caring thorough opticians then give them a go they are all of those things and more. Such nice people to deal with thank you.

I took my (special needs) son (22 years old!) for a comprehensive eye test. The optician could not have been nicer or more accommodating. He took immense trouble to explain everything in simple terms and was hugely patient and encouraging.The level of detail and complexity was extraordinary, with photographs of my son’s eyeballs, pressure tests etc all conducted smoothly and calmly. This really was a tremendous experience, especially given current circumstances. We felt relaxed and at ease at all times. I’ve used this optician myself for detailed eye tests in the past, and I would 100% recommend

My husband and I have been coming here for many years and the care and attention we have received from Chetan and his team is second to none. We wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. Well worth the travel from where we live and we leave with peace of mind every time. Highly recommend this Practice.

Firstly, this is close to where I work, so is extremely convenient for me to drop by during flexible work hours during the weekdays, but I will definitely walk the distant to go elsewhere else now but Suttie D.
Basically, I went in at lunchtime on 8th of Aug to see if I could speak to someone (very briefly) about some contact lens issue (weren't sure if one of the lens was still in the eye & needed confirmation as the eye was painfully sore from failed attempts of finishing the lens- whether it was with eye dye or visual checks). As I had been in discomfort all morning, I was desperate

I booked for an eye test and a contact lens test. The tests themselves were fine and I have not problems with the medical aspect of this practice. My family have been using Brian Suttie for glasses for some time with no problem. However, beware of what is best termed the sharp practices when it comes to payment. Although I had only asked for a test, I was told that if I wanted to buy contact lenses I would have to sign up for a monthly aftercare plan at just under ₤10 a month. This would cover a lot of things that I hadn't asked for and the next year's test and any emergency appointments
