Services
Wordsworths Guest House is located on the main road leading out of Ambleside (as per the one-way car system) and is only a very short walk into the centre of town. You should follow the directions as given until reaching Ambleside. At this point, continue on the A591 and instead of turning off onto Old Lake Road you should carry on until the road forces you to go left (opposite a BP garage) into the one way system, this is Wansfell Road.
We have four bedrooms: 1 twin bedroom (or super king-size), 1 king-size double room, 1 single room, and 1 king-size suite. They are all en-suite and beautifully equipped, with luxurious soft furnishings. All bedrooms have 32" (24" in single) smart colour TV's, hairdryers and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities.
Windermere Steamboats & Museum is located on a former sand wharf site where, for many years, barges unloaded gravel dredged from the bed of the lake. When this operation ceased in 1975, the Windermere Nautical Trust acquired the use of the site and the Museum was built in 1976-77 with the help of The Maritime Trust and the English Tourist Board.
