Stayed for one night August 2021 in a quadruple room for family of four. Very expensive at £260 and the extra £10 to park is pretty appalling. Don’t know why there is no proper cooked breakfast and have this breakfast boxes which were okay but the breakfast wrap was pretty bland and fruit was on the turn. Staff were very Fridays location is fantastic but cost left a bad taste…

Stayed here for 3 days from 10th --13th June with my hubby. Can't fault the Guest House, staff are very friendly, hotel is spotless, and the breakfast in a box is great. Lots of restaurants and takeaways to choose from, can highly recommend Sheila's Cottages (Restaurant) and the Ambleside Inn for food. Looking forward to returning to Brathay Lodge September.

This is a great place to stay for many reasons. No need to drive anywhere once you arrive with the likes of red screws and the Fairfield horseshoe on your door step. View of Wansfell from my room which is a short leg stretch. Also fairly central to other areas of the lakes.
The room was perfect. Called a small double but to be fair a good size with large en suite. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable with choice of hard or soft pillow. Good selection of tea coffee and hit chocolates.
Very Covid Friendly currently with a breakfast box with a great choice of berries and fruits,

Typical decent old fashioned English boutique hotel. We enjoyed a nice stay in the charming mountain village of Ambleside. The location was close to the bus station connecting to Windermere train station, overlooking a minigolf garden a beautiful church, in the background of mountains. The hotel is also very close to restaurants, shops and a charming park with kids play area (Rothay park), and from there hiking tracks. Staff was very helpful, check in was fine. The family room we got was spacious and very clean, bathroom was spotless, plenty of clean towels, Tea/coffee set, DVD for which we could
