I have trained and worked extensively within the emergency services namely the NHS and Police Service for over 3 decades, becoming a counsellor/psychotherapist and then a Specialist Practitioner in Occupational Health. When working with individual clients I work in an integrative way, that is I use different models of therapy depending upon individual clients objectives.
I adhere to the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) 'Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy', as well as the ethical standards set down by the EMDR Association and the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). As part of my ethics and standards and as a professional requirement, I meet regularly with supervisors to discuss aspects of my work.

CBT is a highly efficient and effective psychotherapy. It's a way for people to learn to manage stress and emotional problems more effectively. CBT involves looking at the connections between how we think, how we feel and what we do (our behaviour). CBT particularly concentrates on thoughts that are not useful.
Lesley is an excellent example of a diplomatic, diligent and caring person. She has a natural optimism which rubs off on others around her. Lesley's role in the caring professions is a model to us all and she can always be relied upon to give of her best. She is a valued colleague and friend and I thoroughly recommend her.
