At Shotley Kidzone we aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that will encourage all children to explore, investigate and learn through first hand experiences. Shotley Village Playgroup began in 1964. It moved to its present location in 1984. During that time it has developed into a completely new childcare setting.
In 2013 we opened the Butterfly Room, which offers sessions for our older preschool children before they move onto school. Shotley Kidzone offers care for children aged 18 months to 11 years. Our preschool sessions are for children aged 18 months - 4 years. In addition to our preschool sessions we also provide a Breakfast and Afterschool club for preschool children aged 2+ years and primary school aged children.

Services
The staff throughout the setting nurture the children's natural ability to learn, they are given opportunities to experience learning through many resources and the positive input and interaction from the trained staff. All the activities are based around the Early Learning goals set down by the government to enable them to reach the end of the Foundation Stage.
We welcome children into Shotley Kidzone from 18months old, we have two rooms to accommodate the children. We believe that this enables children to settle in at their own pace, exploring their surroundings and becoming familiar with the staff and their peers. We provide a fun and stimulating environment for children, encouraging them to explore a wide range of opportunities.
We offer breakfast club and after school club sessions for children aged 18months - 11years old. We also offer a collection/drop off service to and from Shotley School. Breakfast club 7.45am - 8.45am offers a selection of cereals and toast along with a variety of activities for your child to engage in, providing a happy and healthy start to their day.

Kidzone SHOTLEY has done wonders to help my daughter learn and play. she has had a lot of support as she has grown up. I have never regretted moving her there from a previous place which just did not seem to understand children. Kidzone SHOTLEY has also ment my wife and I can go to work with the knowledge that our daughter is in the best place. Thanks kidzone.

My daughter started last January and I saw a transformation In her within weeks! She was learning a lot more had soo much to say and got on with the staff brilliantly! They made you feel welcome and they were there for the parents too not just the kiddies. Don't know why we didn't move her sooner! She's now started school but still sees them and talks about her time there x
