Although set in a quiet location, we are just minutes from Oxenholme Railway Station and close to the M6 and main roads into the Lake District. We have ample off road parking for cars and motorbikes as well as secure storage for bicycles.
The Lake District is a place with lots of things to see and do for all ages. Whether you fancy a leisurely drive through outstanding scenery, or an action packed day of activities, climbing, cycling, walking, fishing, golf or even quad biking to name but a few, Cumbria is the place for you. We have listed below a small selection of days out, but please ask if there is anything you'd like to know about or wish to do.
The Glen is fortunate to be located a short walk from The Station Inn at Oxenholme, a charming pub and restaurant where you will find an excellent range of beers, wines and traditional home-cooked food made from fresh local ingredients. Why not take an evening walk on The Helm to watch the sun set over the Lakeland hills and then reward yourselves with a drink or meal in our local inn?

On the day we were due to travel to The Glen my wife was sick. I spoke to Pauline who did what she could and in the end let us change the dates of our stay for no charge. When we did get there we were in the family room which was a great size for the 3 of us. Nice and spacious and all very clean. Pauline and Bill couldn't do enough to help to ensure a good stay. And the breakfast was fantastic each morning. Would certainly stay again.

I've never stayed anywhere so nice! This BnB is very accommodating, the breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Lots of little touches went a long way, like a bag of blankets and fresh water. Covid measures were taken really well and the cleanliness standard was so high, it felt like I was the first person to ever stay in my room. Bill and Pauline (owners) are so friendly and welcoming. I'm really looking forward to staying here again in the future!

Pauline and Bill are the most fantastic hosts, bringing you endless smiles throughout your stay. Breakfast was outstanding, fresh and catered to everything you wanted. The room was lovely, clean and had all the facilities you could ask for. The price was great for a weekend in the Lake District, I cannot fault it at all!
