Seven Stars
Situated on the A272, just outside Petersfield in the village of Stroud, The Seven Stars simply oozes traditional character and charm and boasts Jude Law as one of its more famous Guests. The pub joined the Hall and Woodhouse family in 1996 and was extended into the adjacent barns in 2003, doubling its size and providing a bright and airy table service dining room to complement the more traditional and informal dining areas of the original pub.

For those guests with less time on their hands, the pub also features a cosy bar area to catch up with friends and family over a quiet drink or coffee and in addition, our outside terrace and extensive gardens seat a large number of guests on traditional garden furniture and are ideal for those long spring and summer days when you don't have a care in the World!
Services
We've been working hard over the past few months to make sure all of our delicious food dishes are just that little bit better. As well as our usual favourites like Steak & Tangle Foot Pie, Hand-Battered Fish & Chips and our famous H&W Burger, we've also got a range of tasty sandwiches and of course our delicious Sunday Roasts, which we think are the best (apart from Mum's!)
We've sorted an amazing range of drinks for you to enjoy either with a meal or simply on their own. Our very own range of Badger Beers are only sold in Hall & Woodhouse pubs, so we can guarantee the very best quality cask and bottled ales brewed right in the heart of the Dorset countryside.

Alongside our beers we also have a comprehensive selection of lagers and ciders, together with an extensive wine list, with wines from all around the World and an ever increasing range of spirits, particularly local and regional gins.
One of the key attributes of the perfect English Country pub is that it is at the heart of its local community. That's why we believe it's so important to give something back and detailed below are just a couple of things we are doing locally to help out in some small way. Community is incredibly important to us and as part of this, we help to fundraise for a local charity.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday (12th December 2021) and had a very nice roast meal. They listened to my request for keeping things low fat, and told me that out of all the vegetables, the red cabbage and broccoli were not cooked in butter or oil. The Yorkshire puddings were light and puffed up, the roast chicken was good, my husband enjoyed his meal too. They have their roasts ready to serve from 12 midday on a Sunday; we have eaten there before to break up our journey to or from Dorset. So we knew it would be good, plus you can book a table on the way, from their website. And because the Sunday

Great service and lovely food, but...
...a bit tight on the fries in the main course and the ice-cream in the desert. With regards to the desert I loved the sticky toffee pudding, but it could have done without the teeth breaking walnuts!
However, other than me nit picking, it's a lovely place to go for food with family & friends.

Lovely large country pub with plenty of parking. Very friendly & helpful staff. Broad range of drinks. Good selection of food including plant based options. I was pleased to see plant based options on the kids menu too. The food was very tasty, the price reasonable. Sad to see the playground has gone, it would be good to see this replaced. Overall highly recommended pub. Thanks

This pub was much bigger than I expected. Big car park to match. Greeting was well organised and efficient. Staff very helpful. Nice and airy inside. Food arrived in good time and portions were very adequate. Prices were reasonable. I had the ploughman’s lunch which was excellent.

Popular local pub that does everything well.
Nice location on the A272 with outdoor area and traditional but contemporary interior.
Large bar and restaurant areas but always seems to be full and you should expect problems if you do not book beforehand.
Good menu at average prices and the food was tasty and generous portions.
Friendly staff despite being busy.
Happily recommend and we will return 👍

I went here for a family meal on a beautiful sunny day and was impressed with not only the quality of the food but the friendly service as well.
There were two vegans one vegetarian and two meat eaters in our party and everyone found something on the menu that they liked.
I had a starter of prawn and avocado cocktail which was delicious and light and we also had a bread board to share.
The main courses were enjoyed by everyone and the service was friendly and prompt.
We didn't have to wait too long for the food and overall a completely enjoyable experience one I hope that won't be long before
