Our grade II listed building dates back to 1621 and part of the pub used to be the Squire's Chapel of a Catholic church. This now serves as the pub's function room and can seat 30 people. The pub is warm and inviting throughout and it has retained many of its original features with solid oak beams, wooden floors, roaring log fires and slate floors.

I don't normally write reviews unless something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, unfortunately the wheatsheaf was the latter.
Booked in advance for a 30th birthday meal and to watch the euros. I asked specifically if we could eat as I expected it would be busy and was happy to hear meals would be available.
When we arrived the place was busy but as expected for covid rules, everyone was seated at a table, so by no means crowded. Found our table ourselves and sat down.
After some time I asked at the bar to order and someone would come over to the table.
Was then told no I couldn't
